Abstract

The expansion of the Myze Waingapu Hotel from four to five stories requires a comprehensive structural evaluation due to significant changes in load distribution. This study aims to evaluate the structural capacity, verify the safety of structural elements based on the latest SNI standards, and provide technical recommendations. Structural modeling of the steel roof, floor slabs, and reinforced concrete (beams and columns) was performed using SAP2000 software. The seismic load analysis applied the response spectrum method in accordance with SNI 1726:2019, with an effective seismic weight of 30,579.903 kN. The results show that the WF-profile steel roof structure with a 32° slope meets the strength and stability requirements. The dynamic base shear in the X direction (3,096.093 kN) and Y direction (3,098.616 kN) meet the standards because their values exceed the equivalent static shear forces. The design of the reinforced concrete elements was also found to be safe in accordance with SNI 2847:2019 guidelines. In conclusion, the design of this hotel’s upper structure provides a feasible, safe, and efficient technical solution for implementation.

Abstract

The Admission Building of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is a three-story structure developed into four stories due to increasing space demands. This vertical expansion increases gravity and lateral loads, necessitating a superstructure redesign to ensure structural safety. The design complies with SNI 1729:2020 (steel), SNI 2847:2019 (concrete), SNI 1727:2020 (loading), and SNI 1726:2019 (seismic). Structural analysis via SAP2000 v22 utilized 25 MPa concrete, BJ 37 steel, and 400 MPa deformed reinforcement. Results indicate the roof structure employs IWF 300.150.6,5.9 mm, HWF 400.200.8.13 mm, and regel 250.125.6.9 steel trusses with CNP 150.75.20.4,5 mm purlins. Floor slabs are designed with a thickness of 130 mm, standard roof slabs at 100 mm, and water tank slabs at 150 mm. The building implements a Special Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) system. The main beam (B1) dimension is 300×700 mm, while main columns utilize 600×600 mm (K1) and 400×600 mm (K2) sections. All analytical outcomes demonstrate that the proposed superstructure satisfies the strength, ductile stiffness, and functional stability criteria in accordance with applicable standards.
