Abstract

The rapid growth of social commerce has expanded market access, generated income, and created new entrepreneurial opportunities for women. However, unilateral seller account deactivations, ambiguous violation notifications, appeal rejections, and the withholding of funds can create new economic vulnerabilities. This study analyzes the practice of account deactivation on TikTok Shop and its impact on women's economic inclusion from the perspective of fiqh muamalah (Islamic commercial jurisprudence). Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with female TikTok Shop sellers who had experienced account restrictions or deactivations, observation of seller community discourse, and analysis of the platform's terms and policies. The data were analyzed thematically and assessed using the principles of justice (al-'adl), mutual consent (al-taradhi), transparency in contracts, the prohibition of uncertainty (gharar), the protection of wealth (hifz al-mal), and public interest (maslahah). The findings indicate that deactivation notices often lack specific explanations, that appeals are perceived as offering limited room for clarification, and that the loss of market access and delayed fund disbursement disrupt cash flow and business continuity. From a fiqh muamalah perspective, a platform's authority to impose sanctions must be accompanied by explicit justifications, verifiable evidence, fair grievance mechanisms, and certainty in the settlement of sellers' financial rights. This study contributes to the discourse on contemporary fiqh muamalah and to the formulation of fair and transparent digital platform governance that supports women's economic inclusion.
