Abstract

Abstract UNJ’s community service program aims to enhance the motivation of elementary school (SD) teachers to use technology in the form of gamification for classroom management, through a training program entitled "Technology- and Gamification-Based Classroom Management". The activity was conducted in the Gugus Harapan cluster and involved 61 teachers in the experimental group and 61 teachers in the control group. The method employed was a quasi-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test structure across two groups. The evaluation was based on a single-item question: "I use technology in the form of gamification in my teaching", rated on a two-point scale (1 = No, 2 = Yes). Quantitative data analysis was carried out using a paired sample t-test (to measure changes within each group) and an independent sample t-test (to compare post-test results between the experimental and control groups). Additionally, a qualitative approach was conducted through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to explore teachers' perceptions and experiences after participating in the training. Quantitative analysis showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in the average score from 1.387 to 1.839 after the training (p < 0.001). In contrast, the control group showed a decrease in the average score from 1.226 to 1.097 (p = 0.045). The between-group comparison of post-test scores also revealed a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001), indicating that the training had a positive impact on teachers’ use of gamification. Furthermore, results from the FGD revealed that teachers felt supported in managing their classrooms after understanding the concept of gamification. They reported that gamification increased student motivation, created a more interactive learning environment, and supported the achievement of learning objectives. The majority of teachers expressed a strong commitment to applying gamification in their future teaching practices. Thus, the Technology and Gamification-Based Classroom Management Training proved effective in increasing elementary school teachers' motivation to use technology in learning. This program aligns with UNJ’s 2025 research roadmap, which emphasizes the importance of early support in learning through the provision of electronic modules that facilitate access to applications and classroom implementation. This initiative also reflects a strong commitment to SDG 4, in promoting inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examined the role of Leader–Member Exchange (LMX) and work engagement as predictors of job crafting among employees in Indonesia. Grounded in the Job Demands–Resources model, the research was conducted to address the limited empirical evidence on the simultaneous contribution of interpersonal (LMX) and intrapersonal (work engagement) resources to proactive work behaviour in a collectivistic, hierarchical work culture. It was hypothesised that LMX and work engagement would each, and jointly, have a positive effect on job crafting. The study employed a quantitative correlational design using an online survey of 280 employees who met predetermined work-tenure criteria. LMX, work engagement, and job crafting were measured with validated Likert-type scales and analysed using multiple linear regression. The findings showed that both LMX and work engagement significantly predicted job crafting, with work engagement emerging as the stronger predictor; together, both variables explained 52.3% of the variance in job crafting. These results highlight the importance of strengthening employees’ psychological engagement alongside high-quality leader–member relationships to foster adaptive, self-initiated changes in work roles within Indonesian organisations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of work self-efficacy on job crafting among employees. Work self-efficacy refers to an individual's belief in their ability to complete work tasks, while job crafting is the effort employees make to adjust their work to better suit their needs and capabilities. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The respondents consisted of 351 employees in Indonesia who had been working for at least one year. The instruments used were the Job Crafting Scale (JCS) and the Occupational Self-Efficacy Scale (OSS). Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results showed a significant influence of work self-efficacy on job crafting (p = 0.001) with an R² of 0.454. This indicates that work self-efficacy contributes 45.4% to job crafting. In conclusion, the higher the work self-efficacy possessed by employees, the higher the job crafting behavior demonstrated in their work. These findings have important implications for organizational practice in developing employee adaptation and flexibility through strengthening work self-efficacy, especially in the face of dynamic environmental changes.

Abstract

Teachers’ well-being is a crucial factor that directly influences the quality of teaching and learning processes. However, teachers often experience psychological distress due to heavy workloads, administrative duties, and limited economic welfare. These pressures reduce their motivation and mental health, which negatively impacts educational quality. This community service program aims to implement mindfulness training as an intervention to enhance teachers’ well-being in elementary schools in Kebumen Regency. A total of 105 teachers participated, divided into an experimental group (55 teachers) and a control group (50 teachers). The program used sandplay therapy-based mindfulness training within a quasi-experimental design. Training activities included mindfulness awareness, breathing techniques, emotional regulation, and reflection sessions using sandplay media. The evaluation showed asignificant improvement in well-being among teachers who attended the training (p = 0.019), compared to minor external changes in the control group (p = 0.013). Qualitative reflections also revealed that participants felt calmer, more focused, and more motivated in teaching after the program. The findings confirm that mindfulness training is an effective and low-cost psychological intervention that can be integrated into teacher professional development programs. This program highlights the importance of addressing teachers’ mental health as part of national education quality improvement strategies.
