Abstract

This study discusses the importance of assessing the skill of writing Arabic vocabulary, which is one of the main elements in constructing and comprehending sentences so that they become meaningful. The forms of assessment commonly used are exercises that involve searching for vocabulary and rewriting it based on pictures or objects in the classroom, completing missing letters in words, and composing simple sentences using the vocabulary that has been learned. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive design, in which data were collected through online interviews, such as instant messaging applications or video conferences. This method was chosen because the study aims to identify common errors in students' Arabic writing, to understand the factors influencing writing skills, and to formulate recommendations that contribute to improving this skill. The factors affecting students' abilities include: interest in learning, writing habits, mastery of the alphabet and basic vocabulary, as well as support from the teacher and the surrounding environment. The teacher also provides regular exercises, fosters positive motivation, and implements remedial and enrichment programs to ensure the continuous development of students' skills. Assessment should not be limited only to final results, but should also encompass the learning process that provides students with opportunities to practice, make mistakes, and correct them gradually, thereby helping them develop more effectively.
