Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang  bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil sintesis dan karakterisasi membran kitosan-pektin tertaut silang PVA 1 % dan menentukan efisiensi adsorpsi zat warna azo jenis RBB menggunakan membran kitosan-pektin tertaut silang PVA 1 % dengan variasi pH (1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 11); waktu kontak (10, 20, 40, 60, 80, dan 100 menit); konsentrasi larutan zat warna azo jenis RBB (10, 30, 50, 70, dan 100 mg/L). Hasil sintesis membran dikarakterisasi dengan spektrofotometer FTIR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada spektrum FTIR membran terjadi pelebaran pita pada bilangan gelombang 3448,72 cm-1 mengindikasikan kemungkinan tumpang tindih regang ikatan hydrogen pada PVA dan -NH2 pada kitosan, sedangkan pada bilangan gelombang 1635,64 cm-1 menunjukkan terjadi ikatan amida yang terbentuk dari gugus amino dari kitosan dan gugus karboksil dari pektin. Hasil Efisiensi adsorpsi terjadi pada pH 2, waktu kontak 80 menit dan konsentrasi 30 mg/L dengan nilai efisiensi sebesar 95,68% dan  massa zat yang teradsorpsi adalah 5,0206 mg/g. Kata-kata Kunci: adsorpsi ,kitosan-pektin, PVA, Remazol Black B Abstract This research was an experiment laboratory which aimed to  synthesis product and characterization of chitosan-pectin linked cross PVA 1% membrane and also to determine adsorption efficiency RBB azo dye.  Adsorption RBB azo dye with membrane was prepared by variations of pH (1, 2, 5, 7, 9 , 11); contact time (10, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 minutes); RBB azo dye concentration (10, 30, 50, 70, and 100 mg/L). Membrane synthesized was characterized by FTIR spectrophotometer. Result shows  that there is  a bond broadening at wave number 3448.72 cm-1 on FTIR membrane spectrum which indicated the possibility of hydrogen bond overlapping stretch in PVA and -NH2 of chitosan. Beside that there is an amida bond formed from the amino group of chitosan and carboxyl groups of pectin at wave number 1635.64 cm-1. The efficiency of RBB azo dye adsorption is 95.68% with mass of adsorbed is 5.0206 mg/g at pH 2 for 80 minutes and 30 mg/L RBB azo dye. Keywords : adsorption, chitosan-pectin, PVA, Remazol Black B

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sumber-sumber masukan dissolved organic matter (DOM) di daerah West Pass, Teluk Meksiko. Sampel air diambil dari beberapa kedalaman pada lima lokasi berbeda, tegak lurus dari garis pantai. Konsentrasi dissolved organic carbon (DOC) dan total dissolved nitrogen (TDN) diukur dengan menggunakan DOC Analyzer yang dilengkapi dengan detektor nitrogen. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya dominasi masukan DOM dari Sungai Apalachicola. Namun, autochthonous DOM juga ditunjukkan dari hasil tersebut. Sedangkan data klorofil-a menunjukkan bahwa ada proses selain fotosintesis yang juga menghasilkan DOC di lokasi tersebut.Kata-kata kunci: dissolved organic matter, dissolved organic carbon, total dissolved nitrogen, masukan.Abstract: The objective of this research was to study the sources of dissolved organic matter (DOM) at West Pass, Gulf of Mexico. Water samples were collected from several depths on 5 different locations perpendicular to coastline. Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentration and total dissolved nitrogen (TDN) concentration were measured using DOC Analyzer equipped with nitrogen detector. Result shows that DOM on West Pass is dominated by freshwater input from Apalachicola River. However, autochthonous DOM is also reflected from the result. Meanwhile, chlorophyll-a data shows that there are other processes than photosynthesis produce DOC on that location.Keywords: dissolved organic matter, dissolved organic carbon, total dissolved nitrogen, input
