Abstract

Every literary work has a character figure with different properties and unique. Character or personality can be seen from the pattern of behavior. Characters in the novel can be seen from the way the authors describe patterns of behavior or some are directly explain the nature of each character. The pattern of behavior which have on every character in a novel that will be discussed meet the concept of archetypes. Of course, analyzing personality archetypes in draft form should use a scalpel in accordance with the method psikologisastra Textual approach, analysis on each character in the novel. The results of this analysis argues that the concept of archetypes is divided into four sections: Persona, anima and animun, Shadow, and self can be met.

Abstract

Novel Baiat Cinta di Tanah Baduy menceritakan kondisi alam Baduy sebelum dan sesudah investor tambang datang ke tanah Baduy. Tanah Baduy sangat kaya dan beragam mulai dari flora & fauna, hutan, sungai, dan lingkungan sekitarnya. Tercatat dalam novel tersebut hutan masih asri dan perawan, pohon durian tinggi menjulang berusia ratusan tahun dan ada 200 jenis tumbuhan, 90 jenis burung, dan 20 jenis ikan yang ada di Hutan Baduy. Namun, sejak investor tambang datang ke tanah Baduy, alam Baduy mulai rusak: Pohon-pohon ditebang, bukit-bukit kecil dipugar, sungai tercemar dari limbah pengeboran dan pengupasan di lokasi proyek. Fenomena tersebut berkaitan dengan lingkungan alam. Salah satu kajian tentang lingkungan alam adalah ekokritik. Ekokritik menurut Greg Garrard adalah studi hubungan manusia dan non-manusia, sejarah manusia dan budayanya yang berkaitan dengan analisis kritis tentang manusia dan lingkungan-nya. Tujuh konsep ekokritik Greg Garrard hanya diambil tiga konsep, karena pada novel Baiat Cinta di Tanah Baduy hanya menggambarkan tiga konsep saja. Penelitian dengan kajian ekokritik Greg Garrard dalam novel Baiat Cinta di Tanah Baduy karya Uten Sutendy ditemukan (1) Gerakan hijau yang dilakukan masyarakat Baduy terhadap alam Baduy mulai tergangu dan terusik sejak ada kegiatan yang dilakukan investor tambang atas izin pemerintah Daerah untuk mengambil sumber minyak yang ada di wilayah Baduy, (2) peran alam dalam novel Baiat Cinta di Tanah Baduy karya Uten Sutendy memiliki pengaruh besar. Alam menjadi sumber kelangsungan hidup masyarakat Baduy. Segala hasil alam dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Baduy untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup mereka, dan (3) nilai-nilai yang digambarkan oleh masyarakat Baduy yang sesuai dengan kearifan ekologis adalah nilai pola laku, pola sikap, dan pola pikir. Masyarakat Baduy memiliki keyakinan bahwa hidup mereka di dunia ini untuk menjaga amanat Tuhan yakni menjaga dan melestarikan alam Baduy. Otomatis tujuan hidup mereka adalah membenahi dan menjaga alam Baduy dari kerusakan-kerusakan. Kata kunci: Ekokritik, Garrard, Novel.
