Abstract

Abstract The aims of this study are to describe the students misconception reduction on mechanical wave material by using interactive demonstration. The research is pre experimental design which uses One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this research are the 34 students of XI-MIA-1 class at SMAN 16 Surabaya in the even semester of the 2015/2016 academic year. The identification of students misconception was performed using three-tier instrument diagnostic test. Data analysis results shows that the average of students misconception in pretest is 40.30% and the average of students misconception in posttest is 17.94%, so the percentage of students misconception reduction average is 22.36%.   Keywords: Misconception, Mechanical Wave, Interactive Demonstration, Three-tier Diagnostic Test.
