<![CDATA[Abstrak Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah karena pemahaman siswa sangat lemah pada konsep penjumlahan pecahan. Penyebabnya adalah guru dalam mengajarkan konsep penjumlahan pecahan tanpa melalui proses atau penggunaan media pembelajaran. Hal itu terjadi karena guru merasa kesulitan dalam memilih dan menentukan media pembelajaran yang cocok dan efektif digunakan terutama pada konsep penjumlahan pecahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran mika transparan terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi penjumlahan pecahan di kelas IV khususnya di SDN Kebraon II/437 Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian True Experimental Design dengan jenis Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik dokumentasi dan teknik tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran mika transparan dapat meningkatkan efektivitas hasil belajar siswa pada materi penjumlahan pecahan baik berpenyebut sama maupun tidak sama di kelas IV SDN Kebraon II/437 Surabaya. Efektivitas ini dapat dilihat dari hasil perhitungan uji beda t-test antara nilai pretest dan posttest siswa di kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen dengan nilai thitung > ttabel yaitu 2,3054 > 1,9960 sehingga Ha yang menyatakan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan media pembelajaran mika transparan (kelas eksperimen) dengan siswa yang tidak diajar menggunakan media pembelajaran mika transparan (kelas kontrol) dapat diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran mika transparan efektif digunakan pada materi penjumlahan pecahan di kelas IV SDN Kebraon II/437 Surabaya karena dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada materi penjumlahan pecahan. It is since the teachers neither apply a right process nor use an effective media in teaching the concept of fractions summation. This case occured due to the difficulties faced by teachers in deciding appropriate and effective teaching and learning media particularly to teach this material. This study was conducted in order to describe the effectiveness of the use of transparent mica as teaching media to the students learning result in learning fractions summation. The subjects of this study were the fouth graders of SDN Kebraon II/437 Surabaya. The design of this study was True Experimental Design with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The data of this study was collected by using documentation and test technique. Finally, the result of this research showed that transparent mica as teaching media could increase the effectiveness of student’s learning result on the fractions summation material both in the same denominator or different denominator to the fourth graders of SDN Kebraon II/437Surabaya. The effectiveness of this research could be seen from the result of the counting of t-test between pretest score and posttest score in the controlle class and experimental class by score ttest > ttable that is 2,3054 > 1,9960. Therefore, the Ha which explains that there is difference in learning result between students who was taught using transparent mica and those who were not can be accepted. Hence, it can be concluded that the use of transparent mica as a teaching and learning media to teach fractions summation to the fourth graders of SDN Kebraon II/437 Surabaya is effective because it can enhance the students understanding to the fractions summation material.
