Abstract

Public awareness of pet welfare has experienced significant development in recent decades, along with the increasing number of people adopting and keeping animals. With this increase, awareness of pet hygiene is increasing. This situation gives rise to an urgent need for professional and comprehensive care services. The goal of this plan is to design a building design that focuses on the welfare of pets and their owners. This research applies qualitative-descriptive methods. This Pet Care Center is a facility that has health, care and day care facilities for pets. Apart from that, it also functions as an information center, recreation area, and also as a place for interaction between fellow animal lovers in Pekanbaru City. The concept of planning this Pet Care Center is to use "Biophilic Architecture", a concept that prioritizes animal integration and welfare in the space. It is hoped that the design of this Pet Care Center can provide education to owners about how to care for animals, understand animal behavior and also about animal health problems.

Abstract

Convention Hall can be interpreted as a building with the function of meeting activities carried out by a group of people in discussing an activity either nationally or internationally. The design of the Convention Hall building in a university environment aims to provide a multifunctional space that can support various academic, social, and cultural activities. This building is expected to be a center of activity that supports the internal needs of the campus, such as seminars, conferences, graduations, scientific discussions, and student events, as well as being open to external activities such as exhibitions and community events. In addition to fulfilling its main function as a meeting center, this building is also equipped with supporting facilities, such as a waiting room, pantry, exhibition area, and audio-visual technical room. The design research for this convention hall building uses an organic architectural approach, namely architecture that harmonizes buildings and the surrounding nature of the site using its principles.

Abstract

Indonesia dengan jumlah penduduk sekitar 283 juta jiwa, menempati peringkat keempat negara dengan populasi terbesar di dunia. Kebutuhan mobilitas masyarakat yang tinggi menjadikan kendaraan, khususnya sepeda motor, sebagai moda transportasi utama. Seiring dengan meningkatnya jumlah kendaraan, meningkat pula penggunaan dan pembuangan ban, yang kemudian menimbulkan timbunan ban bekas dalam jumlah besar. Ban bekas ini menjadi salah satu jenis limbah padat yang sulit terurai dan sering kali tidak tertangani dengan baik, sehingga berdampak negatif terhadap lingkungan, kesehatan, dan aspek ekonomi. Namun, di balik permasalahan tersebut, ban bekas sebenarnya memiliki potensi besar untuk dimanfaatkan kembali sebagai material konstruksi alternatif. Struktur dan sifat fisiknya yang kuat, lentur, serta tahan terhadap cuaca menjadikan ban bekas berpotensi diolah menjadi elemen bangunan, seperti material penutup atap maupun fasad. Pemanfaatan ini sejalan dengan prinsip pembangunan berkelanjutan dan konsep reuse-recycle, yang tidak hanya menekan jumlah limbah, tetapi juga menciptakan inovasi desain ramah lingkungan pada perumahan layak huni. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan tahapan pengembangan meliputi Rencana (Planning), Analisis (Analysis), Desain (Design), dan Penerapan (Implementation). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan material daur ulang, khususnya dari ban bekas, dalam perencanaan rumah tinggal berkontribusi positif terhadap pengurangan limbah serta mendukung penerapan konsep arsitektur berkelanjutan.
