Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between tolerance and learning outcomes of students in Junior High School 8 Kota Jambi. This type of research is a correlation study with a descriptive approach. This research was conducted in classes VII B and VII F. When the study was conducted in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The number of sample respondents in this study were 61 students. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire technique to obtain student character data consisting of 25 items then test techniques in the form of multiple choice questions consisting of 30 items used to collect data. This research uses quantitative research methods, which consist of quantitative data and analysis using correlation analysis techniques. The results of the analysis conducted by the researcher showed that tolerance attitudes were significantly related to the learning outcomes of students of class VII B and VII F of Junior High School 8 Kota Jambi. This can be proven by showing a significant value of <0.05, which is equal to 0,000 and Person Correlation of 0,956> 0,05. To find out the significance of the relationship between tolerance character education and student learning outcomes can be done by looking at the significance value, where the test tests the opinion the significance level is smaller than 0.05 (95% confidence level), then a significant relationship between the independent variable and dependent variable is needed. Based on the calculation results a significant value is smaller than 0.05, which is 0,000 <0.05. Therefore, it can be recognized that there is a relationship between education tolerance and learning outcomes of students of class VII B and VII F in Junior High School 8 Kota Jambi.

Abstract

AbstrakUpaya pendidikan karakter dalam mengembangkan nilai toleransi dan peduli sosial harus dilakukan dalam berbagai aktivitas dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sikap toleransi pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam bagi siswa sekolah menengah pertama. Pendekatan penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian statistik deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan angket yang menggunakan skala Likert. Responden berjumlah 61 orang. Sikap toleran pada siswa diukur menggunakan 25 butir pertanyaan. Masing-masing pernyataan diberi skor 1-4, sehingga rentang skor adalah 18,75. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel kelas VII B sebanyak 31 responden, diperoleh skor tertinggi adalah 95, dan skor terendah adalah 69, diperoleh rata-rata (mean) yaitu 81.61. Penggunaan variabel kelas VII F sebanyak 30 responden, diperoleh skor tertinggi yaitu 96, dan skor terendah yaitu 56 dengan rata-rata (mean) yaitu 84.16. Siswa memiliki sikap toleransi yang baik selama proses pembelajaran IPA di kelas, terbukti dengan para siswa dapat menghargai perbedaan yang terjadi di antara setiap individu. Analysis of the tolerance attitudes of junior high school studentsCharacter education efforts in developing the value of tolerance and social care must be made in various activities and environments. This research aims to describe tolerance in Natural Science learning for junior high school students. The research approach is quantitative with descriptive statistical research methods. Sampling techniques use total sampling. Data collection techniques with polls using the Likert scale. Respondents numbered 61 people. Tolerant attitudes in students were measured using 25 questions. Each statement is rated 1-4, so the score range is 18.75. The results showed that the class VII B variable of 31 respondents, obtained the highest score was 95, and the lowest score was 69, obtained on average (mean) which is 81.61. The use of class VII F variables as many as 30 respondents, obtained the highest score of 96, and the lowest score was 56 with an average (mean) of 84.16. Students have a good tolerance during the IPA learning process in the classroom, proven by students being able to appreciate the differences that occur between each individual
