Abstract

This study is motivated by the rapid growth of the tourism sector in Indonesia, particularly religious tourism, which plays a vital role in driving local economic development. In Kampung Pamijahan, Tasikmalaya Regency, religious tourism—centered around the tomb of Sheikh Abdul Muhyi—has attracted a significant influx of visitors. This phenomenon has created economic opportunities for local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), notably kolang-kaling traders, whose products represent a regional specialty. The objective of this research is to analyze the influence of Safarwadi Pamijahan religious tourism on the economic improvement of these traders. A quantitative approach was employed using a descriptive analysis method. The study utilized a saturated sample of 40 respondents, representing the entire population of kolang-kaling traders in the area. Data collection was conducted through a field research approach with structured instruments, while hypothesis testing was performed using the t-test. Findings reveal that religious tourism significantly influences MSME economic performance, indicated by a significance value of 0.004 (<0.05) and a t-count of 3.033 (>1.686). The coefficient of determination shows that tourism contributes 19.5% to traders’ economic growth, while 80.5% is affected by other external factors. These results confirm that Safarwadi Pamijahan religious tourism serves as an essential but not exclusive driver of local MSME development. The contribution of this study lies in providing empirical evidence of the partial role of religious tourism in enhancing community-based economies, which can inform regional tourism and economic policies.

Abstract

Merger is the merging of two or more companies so that the company becomes better and creates new dynamics. Besides that, it creates efficiency and increases market share, expands the business that is run and has stronger competitiveness. This is the goal of the merger of 3 state-owned Islamic banks including BRI Syariah, BNI Syariah and Bank Mandiri Syariah to become Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). Bank mergers are deemed necessary in order to create a better bank which in the end can have a significant and positive impact on a banking system that is healthy, efficient, resilient and able to compete in the increasingly tight and competitive global economy and free market. This series of mergers clearly reduced the number of banks. This raises important issues, including whether the smaller number of banks has reduced or even increased the concentration of the banking industry. In addition, it is also interesting to analyze the impact of the merger on the level of banking competition. This study aims to assess the impact of Islamic banking merger policies on market conditions. After the merger, will the market become more competitive or will it become more concentrated? The research method used is literature study. The structure variable is seen from the total assets and market share, the conduct variable is seen through the merger policy. Meanwhile, in analyzing the Performance variable, it is measured through Profit. After analyzing the structure-conduct performance (SCP) by assessing the impact of the sharia banking merger policy, it will be seen that the market is becoming more concentrated or becoming more competitive.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) play a crucial role in the country's economic growth. This is because UMKM can absorb a significant workforce, thereby alleviating poverty and equitable distribution of income. However, micro-enterprises still face numerous challenges to achieve business independence. One such challenge is empowering Amil Zakat Institutions (LAZ) to manage productive zakat. This productive zakat management plays a strategic role in promoting the economic independence of those entitled to receive zakat. LAZ can develop five empowerment theories and concepts: Empowerment Theory, Capacity Building Theory, Social Network Theory, Sharia Economic Theory, and the Economic Empowerment Model. Based on the author's analysis, the empowerment concepts developed by LAZ in their programs align with the objectives of sharia law: safeguarding religion, life, family, intellect, and wealth. Keywords: Micro-Enterprise Independence, Empowerment, Productive Zakat
