Abstract

Politeknik Caltex Riau (PCR) is one of the private vocational colleges in Pekanbaru City, Riau, which was established in 2001. Every year PCR holds certification for prospective graduates, where this certification is mandatory for prospective graduates as a graduation requirement. To facilitate prospective graduates, PCR has a Professional Certification Institute (LSP). This certification is used to ensure that graduates have competencies in accordance with their field of expertise before entering the workforce. PCR already has an LSP-P1 system. LSP P1 is a 1st party professional certification institution formed by educational institutions. The existing system is only at the registration stage, while other administrative files are collected in paper / hard file form. The impact is that some files are lost, and it takes a long time to process the data. The resulting solution is to design the Front End of the LSP System including the registration section, assessment process, determination of results, appeals against certification decisions and complaints. The design uses the Design Thinking method on the Front-End side. Based on the test results using UEQ, which reached an excellent scale (percentage above 2% with a range of -1 to 2.5%) in terms of Attractiveness, Clarity, Efficiency, and Novelty of system design.

Abstract

The new student admissions process is often conducted conventionally, requiring parents to visit educational institutions in person to submit physical documents. This approach tends to be inefficient, poses risks of document loss or damage, and slows down data analysis. Promotional methods relying on word-of-mouth and social media are also considered less optimal. To enhance efficiency and user experience, a web-based admissions system was developed using a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach. The UCD method was applied to understand the needs and characteristics of key users, including administrators, admissions committee members, school principals, and parents. The development process involved three iterations, covering user needs analysis, user experience-based interface design, testing, and repeated evaluations. The system includes features such as online registration, data management, a payment system, automated notifications, and geolocation to assist parents in estimating school distance. System evaluation using black-box testing and usability testing resulted in a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 92.125, classified as "Excellent." These findings indicate that the UCD approach effectively produces systems that align with user needs and improve the efficiency of new student admissions.

Abstract

Kebutuhan masyarakat akan pangan, seperti sayur dan buah-buahan, meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk. Salah satu solusi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan ini adalah dengan budidaya hidroponik, yang memungkinkan pertanian lebih efisien di lahan terbatas. Salah satu tanaman yang sering dibudidayakan secara hidroponik adalah pakcoy. Namun, tanaman pakcoy rentan terhadap serangan hama, terutama ulat yang merusak daun, sehingga diperlukan sistem pengendalian hama yang efektif. Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem pendeteksi hama ulat pada tanaman pakcoy berbasis Raspberry Pi dengan menggunakan metode object detection menggunakan algoritma YOLO (You Only Look Once). Sistem ini bekerja dengan mengambil gambar daun pakcoy menggunakan USB-CAM, kemudian menganalisisnya untuk mendeteksi keberadaan hama ulat. Jika hama terdeteksi, sistem secara otomatis mengaktifkan penyemprotan pestisida untuk mengendalikan hama tersebut. Pengujian dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi akurasi dan efisiensi sistem. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem memiliki akurasi deteksi sebesar 86%, dengan rata-rata waktu deteksi 1,2 detik per gambar. Selain itu, penggunaan pestisida menjadi lebih efisien karena penyemprotan hanya dilakukan pada tanaman yang terdeteksi terkena hama, sehingga dapat mengurangi pemborosan pestisida. Sistem ini memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan peningkatan akurasi model deteksi, integrasi dengan Internet of Things (IoT) untuk pemantauan jarak jauh, serta pengujian di berbagai kondisi pencahayaan dan lingkungan pertanian yang berbeda. Implementasi sistem ini diharapkan dapat membantu petani hidroponik dalam mengendalikan hama secara lebih efisien dan ramah lingkungan.
