Abstract

A digester is a piece of equipment consisting of a cylindrical tube with both long and short knives. This tool is used to aid the processing by slicing and stirring, making the fruit soft. Common issues with digesters usually involve wear and breakage of the digester knives. Wear is generally understood as the loss of material due to the mechanical interaction between two moving and loaded surfaces. Wear can disrupt the production process, affecting the company's productivity. The objective of this research is to determine the volume and rate of wear on the long arm of a cast steel digester. Based on this study, the wear value obtained for the long arm digester is a wear volume of 19,117,969 mm³ and a wear rate of 9,558.984 mm³/hour under a load of 23,520 N over 2,000 hours of operation. This indicates that the replacement of the long arm digester should be performed according to the specified operational time limits while considering the load entering the digester, in order to prevent a decrease in the company's productivity.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the main dimensions of the roll drive gear on the roll rotation speed in the roll sheeter machine. The roll rotation speed influences the quality and efficiency of the milling process to produce Ribbed Smoke Sheet. The results of the research show that the main sizes of gears on the roll sheeter machine are the gear module used is 8.34 mm, the diameter of the stitch is (150.12 mm), the inside diameter is (129.27 mm), the outside diameter is (166.80 mm), tooth height (18.76 mm), circle distance (26.18 mm), tooth width (125.10 mm), and tooth thickness (14.40 mm) and roll rotation speed on the roll sheeter machine (roll-1 =0.45 m/s), (roll-2 =0.49 m/s), (roll-3 =0.53 m/s), (roll-4 =0.57 m/s), (roll-5 =0.68 m/s), and (roll-6 =0.56 m/s).

Abstract

Salah satu metode pengukuran kinerja dan efektifitas mesin yang digunakan adalah Overal Equipment Effectivennes (OEE). Metode pengukuran ini terdiri dari tiga faktor utama yang saling berhubungan yaitu Availability (ketersediaan), Performance (kemampuan), dan Quality (kualitas). Metode ini merupakan bagian utama dari sistem pemeliharaan yaitu Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Untuk itu perlu dilakukan perhitungan terhadap nilai Overall Equipment Effectivennes (OEE) untuk mengetahui kinerja mesin penggilingan sheet tersebut dan menganalisis faktor faktor penyebab ketidakefektifan mesin yang mungkin yang terjadi. Dalam rangka pengumpulan data dan juga waktu untuk menganalisa dari tahap pertama sampai tahap selesai, maka dilaksanakanlah metode-metode kerja antara lain yaitu, Metode Tinjauan Pustaka dan Metode Studi Lapangan Berdasarkan pengamatan dan pengolahan data yang telah dilakukan maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai efektivitas mesin roll sheeter tahun 2023 menggunakan metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) yaitu nilai Availability 89%, nilai Performance ratio 95% dan nilai Quality rate 99%, sehingga nilai OEE yang dihasilkan adalah 83%. Nilai OEE rendah karena nilai availability tidak mencapai standar yaitu 90%. Nilai OEE yang diperoleh tidak sesuai dengan standar yang ditetapkan oleh Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) yaitu 85%
