Abstract

The nurse manager is crucial in overseeing and directing nursing services to accomplish organizational objectives effectively. Nurse managers must possess the skill of evidence-based decision-making. This reseacrh aims to determine the efficacy of evidence-based practice training in enhancing decision-making skills among nurse managers at Hospital B Bandung, specifically through utilizing the Fishbone Diagram. This study employs quantitative research methodologies utilizing a pre-experimental design, specifically a one-group pre-post design. The research sample comprised 62 nurse managers, including 28 section heads, deputy section heads, coordinators, and 34 CCMs. These individuals received evidence-based practice decision-making training interventions involving fishbone diagrams and post-training intervention. The data analysis method employs the Wilcoxon bivariate test and the multivariate ordinal logistic regression test. The intervention yielded statistically significant improvements in decision-making practices, knowledge, attitudes, and skills. The p-value for these changes was 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a high confidence level in the results. This study suggests that providing evidence-based practice training to hospital nurse managers is necessary to enhance their decision-making skills. This can be achieved by utilizing fishbone diagrams or other similar tools.

Abstract

Nursing services which are one of the duties and responsibilities of nurses are to document the interventions that have been carried out. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of persuasive communication training at the head of the room on work motivation and documentation of nursing care at X Hospital, South Jakarta. Quasi Experimental research design using Pre-Post Test Class Design. Respondents in the hegemonic group were 76 respondents who were selected using purposive sampling technique. Respondents in the control group were 25 people. Respondents in the hegemonic group were given persuasive communication coaching as well as supervision and observation for 8 weeks. Collecting data using field information and observation sheets, evaluation of nursing care documentation, then analyzed bivariately with Wilcoxon test and multivariate using Chi-square test and logistic regression. as a result of the study, the average motivation of nurses for the hegemonic group was 28.6%. While the mean of documentation of nursing care in the hegemonic group is 80.2%. there is an impact of persuasive communication training on increasing nurses' motivation (P value < 0.05). there is an impact of persuasive communication training on improving nursing care documentation (Pvalue <0.05). Researchers recommend persuasive communication training in increasing work motivation and documentation of nursing care.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia. Most causes occur due to impaired insulin secretion, impaired insulin action,  impaired carbohydrate, fat, protein metabolism. The results of the Basic Health Research in 2018 showed that the prevalence of DM in Indonesia is 8.5% or around 20.4 million people diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. In Jakarta (Kemenkes RI, 2018). It is estimated that a person with diabetes has a 25% lifetime risk of developing diabetic ulcers (International Diabetes Federation, 2020). One of the common nursing problems in DM clients is ineffective peripheral perfusion. Buerger Allen Exercise is one of the active movement exercises that aims to improve peripheral perfusion to the lower extremities. This case report aims to analyze nursing care in the application of Buerger Allen Exercise interventions in clients with Diabetes Mellitus. The research method used is descriptive research in the form of a case study with a sample of 1 person conducted for 3 consecutive days with a duration of 12 minutes in the morning and evening in the internal medicine inpatient room. The results of the evaluation after the intervention of the Buerger Allen exercise found a change in ABI values on the first day of the right ABI value: was 0.87 and the left ABI: was 0.80, on the second day the right ABI value was 1.2 and the left ABI was 1.03, on the third day the right ABI value was 1.01 and the left ABI: 1,0. For CRT, pulse on the extremities, and edema there were no significant changes. While in the acral there is a change to warm acral on the lower extremities. This shows the effectiveness of the Buerger Allen exercise on lower extremity peripheral perfusion, especially in increasing ABI values
