Abstract

The research aimed to 1) analyze the implementation of authentic assessment at Institute of Teaching and Education (IKIP) PGRI Bojonegoro and 2) identify lecturers and students perception on the impact of authentic assessment toward the quality of students learning outcome. This research was qualitative research using case study approach. The data collection methods were in-depth interview in focus group discussion (FGD) with lecturer and students; and documentation. The data validity examination was triangulation method. The interactive analysis method was used to analyze data. The research found that: 1) Some lecturers of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro had already implemented authentic assessment method in the learning process. 2) Authentic assessment method was believed very appropriate by the lecturer and students to be implemented in the learning process because this method had many positive impact, especially to students. However, this authentic assessment technique more focused on the learning outcome quality improvement in students than the student’s achievement.

Abstract

In this globalization era, technology is increasing rapidly. One of the technologies is a gadget/device. Gadget users come from various backgrounds, ranging from adults, the elderly, and even children. The Daily Mail reports that 70% of elementary school-aged children can easily use a gadget. The use of gadgets can have both positive and negative effects on children. The negative effect of using a gadget is affecting the quality of sleep and learning achievement on children. The study aimed to describe gadget addiction, sleep quality, and learning achievement of children focused on grades 5th and 6th at SD Negeri 1 Sidodadi Lawang. A descriptive study method. The total population of grade 5th and 6th students at SD Negeri 1 Sidodadi Lawang are 96 students. Data were taken by using Smart Addiction Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaires, and students' report cards. The distribution of gadget addiction levels in this study was 21 people (21,9%) with a low level, 72 people (75%) with a moderate level, and 3 people (3,1%) with a high level. There were 73 people (76%) with poor sleep quality and 49 people (51%) with poor learning achievement. The level of gadget addiction in 5th and 6th-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Sidodadi Lawang was dominant in the medium level, sleep quality was dominant in the poor level.

Abstract

This study is the initial part for developing cooperative problem-based learning (hereafter Co-PBL) to promote verbal creativity in EFL writing. The study is aimed at: (1) investigating the previous teaching and learning model implemented in EFL writing class; and (2) measuring and analyzing the extent to which the teachers and students need Co-PBL to promote verbal creativity (hereafter VC) in EFL writing. This study employed a case study method with the respondents of the research were 2 EFL writing teachers and the students who take EFL writing course in English Education Department of a private university in East Java, Indonesia. The data was yielded from questionnaire, in-depth interview, observation, and document analysis. After analyzing the data descriptively, the results show that teachers have used to implement cooperative learning and problem-based learning in EFL writing class; however, they never try to integrate the two models as a new one. It was also revealed that they did not notice verbal creativity as an affecting factor in EFL writing due to their insufficient knowledge to develop learning model that can promote verbal creativity. This study also reveals that teachers and students are eager to develop and implement Co-PBL in order to promote students’ verbal creativity in EFL writing. The findings of this study might have implication for EFL writing teachers and learners.

Abstract

In everyday life, the utilization of herbal plants is still relatively low, due to ignorance of the types and benefits of herbal plants and many plants that wither or die. The factors of plant fertility such as soil moisture and soil temperature. Therefore, this research aims to create an alternative prototype for monitoring the soil quality of herbal plants by utilizing IoT (Internet of Things) technology with the integration of a QR Code as a marker of herbal plant identity at each monitoring location. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). This research uses ESP32 as a microcontroller to drive electronic devices and soil PH sensors, soil moisture, soil temperature and air temperature and humidity connected to IoT devices. Soil quality data, such as moisture, temperature, and pH levels are collected in realtime and converted into QR codes. This data is then sent to the server for processing and analysis, providing useful information for plant owners to effectively manage soil quality. The results showed that the soil pH, soil moisture, soil temperature and air temperature and humidity measuring instruments can work well and have an accuracy rate of 90% and the data is successfully displayed to the webserver.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the application of Moodle-Based blended learning in Learning Development of Learners. This study focuses on two main studies, namely the application of blended learning and how it affects students. The research was carried out in one of the classes in the English Education Study Program of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro for 14 meetings which were attended by 30 students. Data collection techniques used include; interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that (1) the application of Moodle-based blended learning in Learning Development of Learners runs smoothly, (2) most students (86.2%) agree that the use of Moodle-based blended learning helps them understand the learning material. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan blended learning Berbasis Moodle pada pembelajaran Perkembangan Peserta Didik. Studi ini berfokus pada dua kajian utama yaitu penerapan blended learning dan bagaimana dampaknya bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu kelas pada program studi pendidikan Bahasa Inggris IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro selama 14 Pertemuan yang diikuti oleh 30 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan antara lain; wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa (1) penerapan blended learning berbasis Moodle dalam pembelajaran Perkembangan Peserta Didik berjalan dengan lancar, (2) sebagian besar mahasiswa (86,2%) setuju bahwa penggunaan blended learning berbasis moodle membantu mereka memahami materi pembelajaran.
