Abstract

Immunizations sometimes have side effects once they are given to babies. DPT immunization is one that has a low-grade fever side effect and sometimes results in high fever and seizures. One of the efforts to treat fever in infants is the kangaroo method. Through this method, heat transfer occurs between mother and baby, increasing the frequency of breastfeeding which can meet the fluid needs of the feverish baby and facilitate the baby in increasing the duration of quiet sleep, less crying and less activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the kangaroo method on decreasing body temperature, feeding frequency and infant sleep duration. Sampling using Porbability Sampling with Simple Random Sampling technique, totaling 30 people and divided into 2 groups of 15 people each, namely the experimental and control groups. The results of the analysis are based on several assumptions of One way MANOVA, namely there is linearity between variables, the data is normally distributed, multicollinearity is not detected and the covariance matrix between groups is assumed to be the same as the Box'M value p = 0.006 > 0.001. The results of the multivariate test showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups with a value of F (3.26) = 49.334, p< 0.001; Wilk’s ʌ 0.149, ƞp2 = 0.851, then the univariate results showed that group differences caused significant differences in body temperature, feeding frequency and sleep duration with p < 0.001. The results of the bonferroni correction further test showed that the average decrease in body temperature, feeding frequency and duration of infant sleep in the experimental group was better than the control group with p < 0.001. This study proves that the kangaroo method has an effect on decreasing body temperature, breastfeeding frequency and infant sleep duration after DPT immunization.

Abstract

thing in the growth and development of babies. Education that utilizes natural plants and has benefits for mothers and babies can be given to the community to help practice increasing breast milk through consumption of Moringa leaves. The aim of this education is to help mothers use Moringa oleifera leaves as a natural ingredient to increase breast milk. The target for this service is breastfeeding mothers using Leaflet media, video tutorials and Moringa leaves. The methods used are lecture, discussion, and PLA (Participatory Learning and Action) methods. The desired output is to increase education in breastfeeding by increasing milk production by consuming Moringa leaves by 20%. Implementation of dedication is given by doing a pretest and posttest. The results of the implementation showed that the average pretest score was 56.4, the posttest average score after education was 79, the average increase in score was 22.6. This shows that education can increase the utilization of Moringa leaves to increase breast milk production by 40%.

Abstract

Anxiety in pregnancy often occurs due to psychological changes and physical changes that cause discomfort, causing the mother to become anxious. One of the physical changes that occurs rapidly during pregnancy is the increasing gestational age, causing the pregnant woman to experience physiological lordosis to lower back pain. Assistance during pregnancy by introducing, demonstrating and monitoring the process of implementing progressive muscle relaxation will make pregnant women more confident in overcoming anxiety and lower back pain during pregnancy so that the mother is able to empower herself during pregnancy. The purpose of this service is to provide assistance to pregnant women with progressive muscle relaxation actions in reducing anxiety and lower back pain during pregnancy. This activity is carried out using the lecture method, question and answer, demonstration, and activity evaluation. The assistance activity was carried out 4 times. The implementation procedure includes socialization, training, lectures, question and answer, demonstration, and activity evaluation. The results of the assistance activity increased knowledge from 16.6% to 75% after assistance. The skills of pregnant women also increased in practicing progressive muscle relaxation by 66.66% after assistance. Assistance efforts can be carried out with a longer duration of time and with innovative method updates such as the use of digital media. This activity is effective to be implemented for pregnant women as a form of self-empowerment during pregnancy.. should be minimum.
