Abstract

This research attempts to understand the role of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in carrying out the Zero Hunger program in Haiti. Compared to the other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Haiti is the country that has the highest poverty and malnutrition rates. This becomes the basis for CELAC to take roles in the problem. By using research methods and international concepts proposed by Clive Archer and Andre Pariera, this study produces two findings about CELAC in overcoming problems related to malnutrition in Haiti. First, CELAC plays a role as an arena an actor through the provision of the High-Level Conference and Ministerial Conference that discusses the problems in Haiti. Second, CELAC has a role as an initiator through the promotion of dialogue between countries to exchange experiences on national social programs.

Abstract

The Halal Industry is the answer to Indonesia's economic potential. This study aims to discuss the strengthening of halal brands and awareness in this halal industry, namely the halal pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors in Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study where researchers collect data through discussions from books, journals, trusted websites, and other relevant research. The results of this study show that strengthening halal brands and awareness is one of the strategies in the core halal industry, the pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors. The core halal industry has two sectors: the Halal Food and Beverage and the Halal Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic. However, this study focuses on the Halal Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Sector, where the halal brand is an awareness for the Muslim community in Indonesia that halal products are good to use and are governed by Islamic law.
