Abstract

This research aims to find a conceptual explanation regarding Pencasila as a philosophical system and as a basis for education in the implementation of guidance and counseling in Indonesia. The method used is library research which refers to four steps, namely; selecting concepts to be reviewed, reading and analyzing (synthesizing) literature, and writing articles. The results of the conceptual analysis of this study explain that the Pancasila philosophy is closely related to guidance and counseling, because it is by its main essence, namely always prioritizing the principles of comfort and prosperity in living together among fellow humans. Apart from that, Pancasila is also a foundation of education and a basic foundation and framework for guidance and counseling teachers/school counselors in implementing guidance and counseling services in Indonesia. Currently and in the future, guidance and counseling teachers/school counselors and other guidance and counseling practitioners can implement two major issues, namely religious counseling and multicultural counseling which are in line with the essence of the Pancasila philosophy in Indonesia.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the role of school culture on the performance of professional teachers. The research method used is a qualitative method using interview techniques, documentation studies and observations in collecting data on ten teachers and ten principals at state high schools in the city of Ternate. The results of the research show that teachers in senior high schools in the city of Ternate are trying to improve school culture which leads to high quality professional teacher performance.

Abstract

This research talks about vocational education policy in the city of Ternate in the context of the ASEAN economic community, and the type of research is qualitative to find an observation of a weakness or naturalistic aspect of an event, exploring the problem phenomologically. The form of in-depth, unstructured interviews through suggestions from those who examine the authentic lives or “life worlds” of the perpetrators. That observation data must be in-depth and detailed, the data must be depicted clearly, the description is sufficient so that the reader can understand what happened and how it happened. The research location is at a vocational school in the city of Ternate, in this case the researcher tries to research the preparation of students in facing the global market in the work sector and currently what is happening regarding ASEAN issues and research results is that vocational schools in the city of Ternate have prepared themselves for global competition and are preparing skilled workers who are ready to be used in the world of work.

Abstract

Career guidance and counseling is a service provided to students that aims to help students adjust, understand the world of work, and be able to determine career choices and plan their careers. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of career guidance and counseling services that have been implemented by teachers in junior high schools. The research method used is descriptive/interpretive qualitative. This study was conducted at SMPN 13 Ternate City. The results of this study describe that in the implementation of career guidance and counseling services in schools, guidance and counseling teachers at SMPN 13 Ternate City have implemented it, but the implementation has not been carried out optimally in the form of a comprehensive guidance and counseling program. In addition, the time allocation given is not sufficient for the service process needed by students and the provision of facilities in the form of facilities and infrastructure is inadequate. Another finding is that there are many obstacles faced by guidance and counseling teachers in efforts to implement career guidance and counseling services in schools efficiently and effectively.
