Abstract

Grave pilgrimage is something that we often encounter and maybe even do since childhood. This tradition aims to visit the graves of people we want to pray for, such as grandparents to great-grandparents, to visit the graves of figures who have no special pedigree with us, such as kyai and scholars and guardians, even village elders who are considered sacred and can bring blessings to those who follow the pilgrimage tradition. The author takes data using phenomenological studies because the grave pilgrimage is a phenomenon for society. Especially for Javanese people who nobly respect tombs and pesarean more than other communities. In such a place, Javanese people must follow the existing rules and manners. The author views that the phenomenon of grave pilgrimage is closely related to the cultural system of the community, which is carried out with different motivations. In this paper, the author takes data from the phenomenon of grave pilgrimage at the grave of Syekh Wasil, Kediri City. Syekh Wasil is seen not only as a charismatic figure whose grave is visited by many Muslims but also because he is a symbol of the process of spreading Islam in Java, especially in the area of the Kediri Kingdom.

Abstract

Religious moderation is a way to strengthen relations between religious communities. Forming cooperation and strengthening communication is the most important thing in the process of establishing religious moderation in society. Apart from that, society needs to foster harmony and tolerance to avoid prolonged conflict. By implementing these things, religious people in society can carry out their religious activities safely without worrying about disapproval and rebellion from other religions. Because of this, it is necessary to hold socialization activities in the community regarding the essence of religious moderation and how religious moderation is a way to foster prosperity in society. This then became the reason for the formation of the "Plant Togetherness Harvest Prosperity" activity held by the Wates District KUA in collaboration with the Religions Study Program of the Kediri State Islamic Institute which was carried out in Tawang Village, Wates District, Kediri Regency.  In this program, people from various religious backgrounds are invited to plant sweet potatoes together as a symbol of togetherness and mutual cooperation regardless of differences in beliefs. Sweet potatoes were chosen as the medium because they are easy to grow, have good economic value, and can be consumed by the whole community. By working together in the planting to harvest process, it is hoped that the community can understand the importance of togetherness, mutual respect, and building mutual prosperity. Through this activity, the people in the village are expected to be able to implement religious moderation practices in their daily lives.
