Abstract

One of the most hotly debated topics in the 18th century and its peak in the 19th century was The Jesus of history and The Christ of faith. This topic became very popular for the theologians and professors of the New Testament to analyze. The work done in this analysis always leads to the conclusion that the Jesus who is believed by Christians today is an unhistorical Jesus. Sources of the Gospels - The gospel held today is often considered to be inaccurate and distorted by the delusions of the gospel writers. But all the accusations of the liberal theologians are not based on historical facts and contradict the authenticity of the canonical gospels.

Abstract

The Christian way of life is a life that must of course be based on faith. That faith is based on belief in Jesus Christ who died and rose and ascended to Heaven. This faith then produces hope for everyone who believes in Christ, namely that they will definitely have eternal life. In this hope, believers are strengthened to remain faithful and live to carry out God's will. They are the ones who can enjoy eternity amidst the temporary nature of this world. In the end, with the Faith and Hope they have, believers can share love with each other. This love certainly comes from the Triune God. This is what pleases and glorifies God in the life of a Christian. This book explicitly and comprehensively explains to believers that aspects of loyalty, honesty, sincerity and holiness of life in following Jesus Christ can only be achieved correctly if they hear God's Word and then examine it correctly. So Faith, Hope and Love significantly emerge in the life of the congregation as a whole.

Abstract

The first seed of the gospel sown by missionaries became the basis for establishing the celebration of the day of the proclamation of the gospel. This foundation is crucial for building the faith and spirit of gospel proclamation from generation to generation. A problem arises from the discrepancy between the age of the church as an institution and the age of the gospel proclamation day, which is celebrated annually in North Nusa, particularly on Siau Island. This has led to the misconception that the church as an institution was formed before the seeds of the gospel were sown. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, involving the collection of data and engagement with primary sources such as books, journal articles, and other relevant references related to the main topic of the research. The study concludes by tracing the historical path of the first gospel seeds in Siau. The findings indicate that the first seeds of the Gospel were sown by Pastor Mascarenhas in 1568 in the village of Paseng-Siau, which, by the most recent celebration in 2024, had reached an age of 456 years. Meanwhile, the age of Gospel proclamation that is commemorated annually, calculated from 1857 to 2024, spans 167 years. This period is categorized as a time of nurturing the Gospel seeds and enforcing strict church discipline. This long journey has made a significant contribution to establishing the historical foundation of Gospel ministry in the North Nusa region.
