Abstract

Kaum gay masih sulit berkomunikasi dengan gay lainnya layaknya masyarakat dominan akibat orientasi seksual yangdimiliki. Oleh karena itu, kaum gay membutuhkan suatu media alternatif untuk dapat berkomunikasi guna memenuhi kebutuhan pribadinya, baik dalam hal sosial maupun seksual. Kaum gay pun menggunakan aplikasi Jack’D untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Penelitian ini ingin mengetahui pola komunikasi antarpribadi yang terjadi di situs jaringan sosial oleh kaum gay sebagai pengguna aplikasi Jack’D. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua konsep sebagai landasan teoritisnya, yaitu Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) dan Social Information Processing Theory (SIP). Paradigma yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah konstruktivisme dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan unit analisisnya individu yaitu kaum gay yang menggunakan aplikasi Jack’D. Disain penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah studi kasus. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kaum gay memiliki tujuan dan caranya masing-masing ketika menggunakan aplikasi Jack’D guna memenuhi kebutuhan pribadinya masing-masing. Sehingga tidak dapat dipungkiri bila komunikasi termediasi memiliki peranan untuk menghubungkan kaum gay dengan sesamanya. Dengan catatan komunikasi termediasi ini harus dilakukan pada banyak platform untuk menunjang perkembangan suatu hubungan. Namun, komunikasi interpersonal secara tatap muka tetap menjadi pencapaian akhir perkembangan suatu hubungan kaum gay. Gay community still finds difficulties in communicating with each other like the dominant society due to their sexual orientation. Therefore, gays need an alternative media to be able to communicate and meet their private needs, both in the social and sexual terms. The gays also use the Jack’D app to meet those needs. This study aims to know the pattern of interpersonal communication that occurs among gays who use Jack’D application. This study uses two concepts as the theoretical foundation, namely Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) and Social Information Processin Theory (SIP). The paradigm used in this research is constructivism with qualitative research approach. The type of this research is descriptive with individual analysis unit, which is gay community who uses Jack’D application. The research design adopted in this research is case study. To collect data, this study employs in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that gays have their own goals and methods when using the Jack’D app to meet their individual needs. Therefore, it can’t be denied that mediated communication plays a role in connecting gays with each other. These mediated communication should be conduced on multiple platforms to support the development of a relationship. However, face-to-face interpersonal communication remains the ultimate goal of relationship.

Abstract

Fanfiction dibuat sebagai bentuk dukungan dan karya imajinasi kreatif dari penggemar dengan karakter yang berasal dari TV, film, animasi, hingga grup penyanyi. Fanfiction berjenis alternate universe penggemar dapat membuat dan mengubah karakter, latar belakang, dan alur cerita sesuai keinginan mereka yang saat ini berkembang di Twitter dengan tambahan format seperti fake chat. Fanfiction tidak hanya menggunakan visualisasi dari identitas asli contohnya yaitu idol K-Pop agar mendukung penciptaan sehingga karakter terlihat nyata dan hidup, namun saat ini karakter fiksi tersebut juga dibuat akun original character roleplayer atau akun karakter fiksi. Penciptaan simulasi dari fanfiction, membentuk simulakra di mana realitas asli terganti dengan realitas semu yang dianggap asli. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penciptaan hiperrealitas K-Popers terhadap original karakter fanfiction di Twitter. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis, dengan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi, selain itu menggunakan teknik analisis model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini adalah peneliti dapat mengetahui bagaimana proses penciptaan dapat terjadi hiperrealitas pada K-Popers terhadap akun original character role player fanfiction di Twitter. Penciptaan simulasi fanfiction AU Awas Papa Galak dapat membentuk simulakra dengan hadirnya akun karakter fiksi yang berinteraksi dengan pembaca di Twitter, hal tersebut membuat realitas asli terganti dengan realitas semu yang dianggap asli, sehingga para pembaca melihat realitas asli sebagai realitas semu. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat diketahui proses terbentuknya simulasi dan simulakra dalam fanfiction yang diciptakan di ruang Twitter, pembaca tetap dapat membedakan dan memposisikan mana realitas asli dan realitas semu.

Abstract

Kajian ini fokus pada narasi cerita tentang kehidupan pertanian dan budaya hidup masyarakat kampung wisata pada praktik-praktik komunikasi pemasaran pariwisata yang dilakukan untuk mengenalkan destinasi wisata melalui media sosial. Penelitian ini mengaji Instagram Kampung Lembur Sawah yang dikelola oleh Saung Eling pada akun @saung_eling. Sesuai dengan fokus penelitiannya, teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah paradigma naratif dan konsep komunikasi pemasaran pariwisata. Penelitian ini mengambil cara pandang paradigma interpretif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data diperoleh dengan cara melakukan wawancara kepada pengelola wisata yang menjadi penutur narasi pertanian dan budaya pada konten unggahan akun Instagram @saung_eling. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa pendekatan naratif dengan benang merah cerita budaya sunda digunakan sebagai payung strategi komunikasi pemasaran wisata atas dasar pertimbangan bahwa pendekatan bercerita itu sendiri telah digunakan lebih dulu untuk keperluan-keperluan lain dalam berbagai bidang, seperti kesehatan mental, penguatan kelompok minoritas, kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas, penguatan diri, jurnalisme, dan praktik-praktik politik. Konten Instagram @saung_eling yang dijadikan studi kasus pendekatan becerita pada penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa naratif dan platform situs jaringan sosial berbasis teks-gambar-video dapat dijadikan alat sekaligus teknik komunikasi pemasaran digital yang menunjang bisnis pariwisata lokal berbasis komunitas (warga).

Abstract

The shift in the practice of conventional to digital marketing has been utilized by marketers to communicate interactively. We The Fest, a music festival, intensively doing marketing in social media, especially Instagram. This study aims to describe digital marketing communication that Ismaya does through Instagram for We The Fest predicated on their marketing objectives in terms of approach, way of marketing, type of messages and features. The concept used to analyze this research data is marketing communication in social media, MAIN model, medium characteristics and Instagram. This research utilizes a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach and type of descriptive research. The instrument used is a researcher and availed by interview guidance. Data amassing technique was done by in-depth interview and observation. The data analysis technique used is Huberman and Miles model and the data validity technique used is source validation. The result of this research shows that We The Fest using audio, visual and sensory approach to their message. It is equipped with the form and type of multimedia messages that contain popular elements, slice-of-life and trigger the user-generated content. When doing accommodation, Ismaya prioritizes the quandary solving that experienced by their audience and responding to them. They also use the response from their audiences to develop communication strategies. We The Fest binds and link with their audiences through loyalty programs and competitions. Not only on Instagram, We The Fest withal publishes their marketing message to other social media, conventional media, and restaurants owned by Ismaya. We The Fest uses varied features of Instagram by taking notice of interactivity, usability and message durability. For further research, hopefully can brought up the comparison between several social media used as marketing communication tools to discover the uniqueness of each platform and ensure which is the most suitable social media that can be used to market music festivals.

Abstract

This study examines the context collapse that occurs in digital health campaigns that intersect with the media literacy of social media users. The reality of context collapse is observed in the interaction of the Insta story question and answer column archived in the Instagram account highlights of health workers. Interviews were conducted with key informants who are media literacy practitioners, child development therapists, and communication teachers. The results of the study show that the context on social media can be collapsed by both the uploader and the content user. Both are communicators who take turns exchanging messages in a virtual face-to-face interaction. Social media followers are random audiences, so their behavior towards an upload, including child health education content, still carries the risk of triggering a reactive response even from a health professional. The key to navigating context collapse on social media is first, refraining from certain behaviors on social media, second, building boundaries for certain activities on social media. These two steps are taken to avoid unnecessary, inappropriate reactions that can obscure or even thwart the initial purpose of communication designed on social media.

Abstract

Cases of sexual violence against women are steadily increasing every year, as well as the news of these cases. Despite that, often the media exploits victims and their stories. The news is framed through a patriarchal lens that gives the impression that the victim was the main cause of the events. As a provider of information, the media plays a central role in constructing public opinions. Therefore, the media has a responsibility to support the victims to get their rights. Reporting with gender sensitive journalism is a media reference in advocating for victims/survivors of sexual violence. This study aimed to determine the application of gender sensitive journalism in Harian Kompas as a media advocacy against sexual violence. This study is based on the concept of Gendered Perspective Journalism, Gender Sensitive Journalism, Press Language in Reporting Sexual Violence, and Advocacy Journalism. This research applied qualitative research methods. The results of this study indicated that Harian Kompas covers cases of sexual violence based on the perspective of victims to protect victims and help the survivors to get justice. Furthermore, as a form of advocacy journalism, Harian Kompas also provides a large space for victims to speak out in the Harian Kompas.
