Abstract

ABSTRAK                Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama periode brooding dengan kandungan protein ransum yang berbeda pada fase starter terhadap produksi karkas ayam kedu hitam umur 10 minggu. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini anak ayam kedu hitam umur satu  hari (DOC) sebanyak 108 ekor (unsex) dengan bobot rata-rata 38,52 + 3,28 gram (CV= 4,70). Pakan yang digunakan dalam formulasi ransum adalah jagung, bekatul, bungkil kedelai dan tepung ikan. Ransum percobaan mengandung EM 2800 Kkal/kg serta PK 18%, 20%, 22% sesuai perlakuan dan ransum Finisher dengan PK 16%. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan Split Plot. Lama brooding (B) sebagai petak utama terdiri dari B1: lama brooding 1 minggu, B2: lama brooding 2 minggu, B3: lama brooding 3 minggu dan level protein (P) sebagai anak petak terdiri dari P1:18%, P2: 20%, dan P3: 22%. Rancangan dasar yang digunakan adalah RAL terdiri dari tiga ulangan dan tiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 4 ekor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh interaksi antara lama periode brooding dan level protein ransum terhadap produksi karkas. Perlakuan lama periode brooding menunjukkan tidak ada pengaruh nyata terhadap produksi karkas, namun perlakuan level protein ransum menunjukkan hasil pengaruh nyata. Semakin meningkatnya level protein akan meningkatkan pula bobot hidup, bobot karkas dan persentase karkas ayam kedu hitam umur 10 mingguKata kunci : ayam kedu hitam; periode brooding; protein ransum; karkasABSTRACTThe present study was conducted to determined the effect of brooding period with different diet protein of phase starter on the carcass production of black kedu chicken age 10 weeks. The material used was 108 day old chick (DOC) black kedu chicken (unsex) with an average weight of 38.52 + 3.28 gram (CV = 4.70). Feed used in the formulation of diet is corn, rice bran, soybean meal and fish meal. The experimental diet containing metabolism energy 2800 Kcal/kg and crude protein 18%, 20%, 22% according to treatment and finisher diet with crude protein 16%. The experimental design used was split plot. Brooding period (B) as the main plot consists of B1: 1 week brooding period, B2: 2 week brooding period, B3: 3 week brooding period and protein levels (P) as the subplot consists of P1: 18%, P2: 20% and P3: 22%. The basic design used was completely randomized design consisting of three replicates and each unit consists of 4 individuals. The results showed that there was no interaction effect between brooding period and diet protein levels on carcass production. The treatment of brooding period showed no apparent effect on the production of carcass, but the treatment of diet protein levels showed a real influence results. The increasing protein level of diet will improve also live weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage of black kedu chicken age 10 weeks.Key word : black kedu chicken; brooding period; diet protein; carcass

Abstract

Central Java Province is one of the provinces with the potential to be a source of beef cattle. The increase in the beef cattle population in Central Java province is expected to increase the national beef cattle population significantly. This study aims to assess the potential of beef cattle and develop a strategy for its development in the Province of Central Java. A study was done using the survey method, and secondary data were obtained from related agencies. Samples were taken using the stratified proportional method as many as 112 farmers. Data were analyzed using LQ analysis, trend analysis, and SWOT analysis.  LQ analysis showed that beef cattle's potential base area was in the Grobogan Regency and Kendal Regency. Estimation of beef cattle population in Central Java Province based on trend analysis shows that the areas of Salatiga City, Demak Regency and Grobogan Regency have the potential to become beef cattle base areas. Based on the carrying capacity, areas that can potentially increase livestock populations are Semarang Regency, Salatiga City, and Grobogan Regency. The results of the SWOT analysis show that the right strategy in developing beef cattle is in quadrant I, namely supporting the growth of an aggressive strategy that uses strength to gain opportunities. The recommendation that can be given from this study is that the implementation of strategies in each region will differ according to the potential of each region.
