Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using project-based learning models supported by E-Linear in increasing students' understanding of concepts and learning motivation. Quantitative experimental methods were used with posttest only control group design. The research instrument consists of a learning motivation questionnaire and a posttest test. The study population included all grade VIII students of SMP N 18 Semarang, with samples selected using cluster random sampling techniques, namely experimental class (VIII B) and control class (VIII A). Data analysis involved Kolmogorov Smirnov's normality test with results of 0.109 and 0.144 for experimental and control classes, and Barlet's homogeneity test with results of 1.64. Hypothesis testing using the t test showed significant differences between experimental and control classes, with results of 7.94 for concept understanding and 5.59 for learning motivation. The results showed that the application of the Project Ba learning model.

Abstract

Based on interviews with the mathematics teacher at MTs Negeri 1 Demak, it was found that students have difficulty translating word problems into mathematical form. This indicates that they have not yet achieved the first indicator of numeracy literacy. The teacher also observed that students’ self-efficacy affects their participation in learning, although it does not always align with their understanding of the material. This study aims to describe the numeracy literacy skills of eighth-grade students at MTs Negeri 1 Demak based on their level of self-efficacy, particularly on the topic of plane geometry. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with six purposively selected subjects out of 32 students, representing high and moderate self-efficacy categories. Data were collected through numeracy literacy tests in the form of word problems, self-efficacy questionnaires, and in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with method triangulation to ensure data validity. The results show that students with high self-efficacy tend to have better numeracy literacy skills, especially in formulating situations into mathematical models, using appropriate procedures, and evaluating results in context. However, there were also students with high self-efficacy who had low numeracy literacy skills, indicating that confidence does not always correspond to mastery of concepts and procedures. Conversely, students with moderate self-efficacy but high numeracy skills performed well cognitively, although they still showed hesitation in answering questions. These findings highlight the importance of integrating self-efficacy development with conceptual reinforcement in mathematics learning. Stable self-efficacy can encourage students to be more confident, but it must be accompanied by adequate conceptual understanding and contextual practice to improve overall numeracy literacy quality.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of mathematical literacy skills of class IX students based on learning styles according to David Kolb. This study uses an analytical descriptive approach with research subjects of class IX A students of SMP 4 Pemalang in the academic year 2019/2020. The results of the study stated that High, Medium and Lower Diverger Subjects were able to solve math literacy problems level 2, 3 and 5. The Upper Assimilator Subject was able to solve math literacy problems level 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The Middle Assimilator was complete at levels 2, 3, 5 and 6. The Lower Assimilator Subject is only completed at levels 2, 3, and 5. The Upper Converger Subject is able to complete level 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 mathematics literacy. less able at level 3. Lower Converger is complete at level 2 and 3 then less able at level 4. Upper Accomodator subject is able to solve mathematical literacy problems level 3, 4, 5, and 6 then less able at level 2. Middle Accomodator is complete at level 2 and 3. whereas Lower Accommodation is only able to solve level 2 problems and less able to solve level 3 mathematical literacy problems.

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking skills need to be developed to help students adapt to a changing world and require them to work flexibly. Besides that, educational games that provide various strategies can help to improve creative thinking skills. Therefore, this study aims to produce learning media in the form of games that can be used to improve mathematical creative thinking skills with the ADDIE development model. Testing of learning media is carried out by testing the validity, practicality, and theoretical effectiveness. The results of this study indicate that the learning media developed are in the very valid category with a final average of 4.43. The practicality and effectiveness of the learning media when viewed theoretically fall into the very practical and very effective category with final averages of 4.55 and 4.82 respectively.
