Abstract

Since mastery of problem-solving techniques is one of the main objectives of studying mathematics, such techniques are very important in the field of mathematical education. With the help of the Pythagorean theorem, the problem-solving skills of eighth-grade students will be assessed. SM Muhammadiyah 01 Field, Class VIII-1 Integrated Facilities, is the location of this research. This research uses qualitative research methodology. The instruments used in this study are four and ten-question model questionnaires labeled Highly Agree (SS), Agreed (S), and Disagreement (TS). This research resulted in high categories whose presentation scores reached 57 to 60 were obtained by 2 students, a medium category where its presentation ratings reached 35 to 46 was achieved by 21 students, and a low category where the presentation value reached 2 compared to 31 was achieved by 5 students.

Abstract

The school environment can affect the mental development and learning achievement of students. The good and bad conditions of the school environment will affect the development of students. Bullying behavior is one of the negative behaviors that often occurs in the school environment. Bullying is an aggressive action by someone to the target of bullying by attacking intentionally and without burden, done repeatedly because they consider the victim weak, easy to tease and unable to defend themselves. Bullying behavior has a serious impact on the mental development of students. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the bullying behavior that occurs in students is mostly in the form of verbal bullying. The bullying treatment received by victims of bullying causes psychological disorders, victims of bullying experience lack of self-confidence and disorders in socializing

Abstract

Finding a solution to a problem is called problem-solving, therefore learning mathematics means finding solutions to problems that arise in everyday life. The purpose of this study is to characterize students' aptitude in mathematical reasoning after completing a project related to Real Analysis. This study used descriptive techniques and was quantitative. Students' logical reasoning skills were revealed from the test results they obtained while answering questions designed based on indicators of mathematical thinking skills. Data analysis techniques used in this research include surveys, data visualization, and observation. Research on students' mathematical thinking skills showed findings with high, medium, and lesser categories.

Abstract

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of creative thinking skills in today's learning environment. This can be enhanced through the application of innovative learning models. One such approach is the Project-Based Learning model with a STEAM approach. This study aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning model with a STEAM approach on the creative thinking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 27 Padang. This study employed a quantitative method using a Quasi-Experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with a STEAM approach was applied to the experimental class, while the conventional learning model was applied to the control class. Two classes served as sample groups, selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments used were observation sheets on the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with a STEAM approach, descriptive test questions, and a questionnaire assessing student responses to the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with a STEAM approach. Data analysis was performed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and two-mean difference tests. Statistical analysis in this study was performed using Microsoft Excel. The results of the study were obtained, based on the hypothesis test, the t-value was 5.70 ≥ t-table of 2.00. This indicates that there is a significant average difference, so that the Project Based Learning learning model with the STEAM approach has a significant effect on the creative thinking skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Padang.
