Abstract

ABSTRACT Traditional communication platforms and virtual digital learning could mitigate the closure of schools during COVID-19 and any other pandemics to enhance effective management of quality education. This study observed the relationship between traditional communication, virtual digital learning and management of quality education in public senior secondary schools in Nigeria. Purposive sampling techniques was used to select 140 principals and 280 teachers from 14 States that have commenced the use of traditional communication platforms and virtual digital learning for teaching students during the lockdown period in Nigeria. Data was collected using Covid-19 Pandemic Issue and Management of Quality Education Questionnaire (CPIMQEQ). The data was analysed using descriptive statistics and t-test statistical analysis. The results revealed that there was significant relationship between traditional communication platforms, virtual digital learning and management of quality education. It was recommended that government should make adequate provision for the use of traditional communication platforms as part of methods of teaching students rather than concentrate on only face-to-face traditional method of teaching to prevent total lockdown of education institution during pandemic so as to improve access to education. Also, government should make provision for necessary tools needed for effective use of virtual digital learning in teaching students and this will in turn help to address problem of school closure during pandemic as well as provision of training and retraining of teacher on digital skill in order to increase the students’ engagement and encouraged interaction towards achieving quality education.

Abstract

AbstractA significant issue related to social justice in higher education is the lack of equitable access to quality education for all individuals regardless of their socio-economic background. This problem is rooted in issues such as rising tuition costs, limited financial aid options, disparities in resources and opportunities among different communities, and systematic barriers that prevent marginalized groups from pursuing higher education. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between social justice and the management of higher education. The research used a survey instrument and a quantitative research design. Statistical techniques including SPSS version 20.0, and SMART PLS software were used to analyze the received questionnaire and test the hypotheses. Social justice represented three distinct factors, i.e., affordable education, safe and inclusive environment, and language accessibility; management of higher education was indicated by three dimensions, governance structure, quality assurance as well and student service. The result also demonstrated the validity and reliability of each factor. The findings show a positive and strong relationship between affordable education, a safe and inclusive environment, language accessibility, and management of higher education. The study recommends that the government should make education more affordable, necessary, free, accessible, acceptable, and flexible enough to adjust to societal changes. Also, should provide a safe and inclusive environment as well as multilateral interaction to ensure language accessibility. The study's conclusions show that affordable education, a safe and inclusive environment, language accessibility, and management of higher education have a good and significant association.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of AI-driven platforms, including personalized learning platforms, smart content, and intelligent tutoring systems, on students’ cognitive development, problem-solving skills, and overall academic performance. A structured survey was used to gather data for the study. The undergraduate students in the faculties of education of public universities in Kwara State, Nigeria, were the target population. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS tools to evaluate the relationship between AI-driven platforms and student development. The findings indicate that the effective management of artificial intelligence-driven learning platforms, including personalized learning platforms, smart content, and intelligent tutoring systems, has a significant impact on student development (engagement, academic achievement, and cognitive capacities) in higher education institutions. This study shows empirical support for AI’s role in contemporary education and how AI-driven tools may effectively promote personalized learning and adaptive learning experiences. Although AI in education is widely discussed, there has been little empirical research examining how AI directly affects the growth of Nigerian students.
