Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to find out how the public speaking role of Bujang Gadis Palembang was as a tourism ambassador for the city of Palembang. In this qualitative study, all participants were approached using snowball sampling. There were 23 participants, all of whom participated in individual in-depth interviews. The data collected from all interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. Interview data revealed that the role of Bujang Gadis Palembang's public speaking was very influential on tourism in the city of Palembang. Public speaking Bujang Gadis Palembang also plays a role in promoting tourism in the city of Palembang. However, no data was found to be ineffective because all participants agreed that the role of public speaking had a positive effect on promoting tourism in the city of Palembang. Abstract

Booklet atau brosur adalah salah satu alat pemasaran yang efektif untuk mempromosikan hotel. Booklet berperan penting dalam mempromosikan hotel karena menawarkan beberapa keunggulan dibandingkan media promosi lain. Booklet memberikan ruang yang cukup untuk menyajikan informasi lengkap tentang fasilitas hotel, jenis kamar yang tersedia, layanan tambahan, restoran, tempat wisata di sekitar hotel, dan segala hal yang relevan dengan pengalaman menginap di hotel tersebut. Informasi yang lengkap ini membantu calon tamu untuk membuat keputusan yang tepat dalam memilih hotel. Booklet yang dirancang dengan baik dan berisi informasi yang berguna dan menarik dapat meningkatkan citra hotel di mata calon tamu. Dengan memberikan kesan yang profesional dan menyenangkan, booklet dapat meningkatkan persepsi calon tamu terhadap kualitas dan pelayanan hotel. Sejak Covid-19 melanda dunia di akhir tahun 2019, banyak sekali yang dirugikan akibat pandemi tersbut, tak terkecuali sektor hiburan dan penginapan. Kota yang termasuk mengalami kerugian akibat Covid-19 ialah Palembang. Banyak sekali hotel dan penginapan di Palembang yang mengalami kerugian akibat masalah tersebut. Salah satu hotel yang mengalami penurunan jumlah tamu dan pengunjung ialah Hotel Duta Syari’ah Palembang. Terhitung sejak 2019 hingga sekarang, jumlah tamu yang berkunjung ataupun yang menginap di hotel ini terus mengalami kemunduran. Walaupun pandemi Covid-19 telah berakhir, namun masih menjadi PR yang besar bagi Hotel Duta Syari’ah Palembang untuk menarik pengunjung ataupun tamu yang ingin menginap di hotel tersebut. Salah satu untuk mempromosikan kembali hotel tersebut ialah dengan membuat bilingual booklet sebaik dan semenarik mungkin. Berdasarkan fenomena diatas, kami berniat untuk melakukan pengabdian dengan cara penampingan pembuatan bilingual booklet untuk mempromosikan kembali hotel ini, bukan hanya untuk wisatawan domestik, tetapi juga wisatawan mancanegara.

Abstract

This inquiry was aimed at designing an e-booklet about Museum Negeri Sumatera Selatan to endorse Palembang’s historical tourism. The problem formulation in this research was formulated into a question: how to design the e-booklet of Museum Negeri Sumatera Selatan? The purpose of this study is to know the procedures to design an e-booklet for Museum Negeri Sumatera Selatan. The research and development method by Sukmadinata (2015) was applied to conduct the investigation. This method has three steps: a preliminary study, model development, and final product testing. Then the 7 stages (background research and investigation, concept, pitching, treatment, first draft, revision, and final draft) of script development by Friedmann (2014) are embedded into Sukmadinata’s idea. The draft design of the 38-page e-booklet of Museum Negeri Sumatera Selatan as historical tourism in Palembang was created based on the findings. Abstract

Websites for hotels are essential sources of information for prospective guests. Because of this, their readability and appeal are crucial to hotel internet marketing. The objective of this study is to gain insight into the linguistic strategies utilized by hotels for online promotion. This study initially introduces an analytical framework grounded in appraisal theory to elucidate the underlying mechanisms employed by hotels to foster interpersonal interactions. This framework is subsequently employed to analyze the online linguistic strategies utilized by the five-star hotels in Palembang. The overall linguistic strategy is found, along with the hotels' preference for using it. This study employed a descriptive qualitative methodology, analyzing samples from hotel websites in Palembang based on their usage of language style. The findings indicated that metonym, hyperbole, metaphor, personification, simile, and synecdoche are the language types that the hotel frequently uses to entice readers to stay there with metaphor as the most dominant. In conclusion, one of the most important parts of making ads is using language style, which means changing the meaning of words and using figurative language to make them more fun to read.
