Abstract

 AbstractThe purpose of the research was to knowing effect of the direct instruction models to the psychomotor skills of students in class XI of the department of chemical engineering SMK-SMTI Pontianak in evaporation experiment. The form of the research was Pre-Experimental Design, with Intact-Group Comparison design. Data collection techniques used direct observation techniques and unstructured interview techniques. The instrument used were psychomotor skills assessment form that has been validated. Test of T parametric Equals Variances Assumed results. sig (2-tailed) = 0,003 less than the significance level (? = 5%), meaning that there is a difference between psychomotor skills of students in the experimental group and the control group. Value of Effect Size obtained is 1.39 or relatively high in order to obtain the effect of the model of direct instruction to students psychomotor skills by 41.77%. Keywords: direct instruction model, Psychomotor skills of students, Evaporation Experiment.
