Abstract

This study aims to find out how important preparing lesson plans for lecturers at STAI Syekh H Abdul Halim Hasan Al Ishlahiyah Binjai before teaching in the classrooms. This research is a descriptive qualitative study with 15 informants as participants. The data proved that all the Islamic education lecturers made and prepared lesson plans before they taught in the classrooms. They revealed that preparing lesson plans were very important to do before coming to the classrooms. They argued that professional lecturers are lecturers who can make good lesson plans that have clear learning objectives and outputs in accordance with the interests and talents of their students. The results from the interviews were also found that these lecturers also prioritized Islamic moral values aspects in their lesson plans. They said that lecturers who did not have lesson plans tended to teach haphazardly and aimlessly and had no output to produce. Lesson plan is the main and the crucial aspects that must be made and designed by the lecturers. Lecturers felt insecure and not free if they entered class without making and bringing lesson plans when they were in the classrooms. In supporting the suitability between the lesson plans made by the lecturers and what were taught in the classrooms, Quality Assurance Agency (LPM) of STAI Syekh H. Abdul Halim Hasan Al – Ishlahiyah Binjai always monitors and evaluates the learning activities of the lecturers at the end of the semester.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) based learning media in Vocational High Schools in Langkat Regency. This is qualitative study with a descriptive approach. There are four State Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Langkat Regency namely SMK Negeri 1 Pematang Jaya, SMK Negeri 1 Serapit, SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura, and SMK Negeri 1 Stabat which are the places of research. Totally there are 20 teachers from four schools became informants in this study. In this study, data collection used is in-depth interviews. The findings of the study show the use of AI in the classroom learning process as a teaching medium is still far from effective. Many teachers have not used AI as their learning media. Most teachers already know about AI generally, but the use of AI in education as a learning medium is still not widely known and implemented. Even some teachers still do not know what AI (Artificial Intelligence) actually is. Supporting facilities and infrastructure such as: Unstable or even lost internet connection, limited WIFI, Projectors, PCs that do not support are some of the reasons why AI is still not effective as a learning medium in the classroom. It is hoped that socialization, workshops and training on the use of AI for teachers can be carried out by the central education office and local education offices to increase awareness of technology.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to reveal the phenomenon of anxiety faced by STAI Syekh H. Abdul Halim Hasan Al-Ishlahiyah Binjai lecturers in speaking English, especially in teaching and learning activities in bilingual classes. Total from ten lecturers filled out The Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) questionnaire adapted and modified from Horwitz, Horwitz, and Cope (1986), and Sari (2017) used to obtain valid data about what anxiety factors dominate and influence lecturers are reluctant to use English in teaching in bilingual classes. The data shows that communication apprehension factors dominantly and most influences the anxiety faced by the lecturers in speaking English with an average percentage of 56%. In second place is occupied by Fear of negative evaluation factors with average percentage of 53%, followed by test anxiety factors with 48%. Lecturers are expected to be able to regulate and limit the space for the factors that influence them to speak English so that the teaching and learning processes in bilingual classes are not disrupted.

Abstract

This study explores the motivations and experiences of non-English major students participating in an English language community at Institut Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan Binjai, Indonesia, where English proficiency is viewed as a crucial tool for personal, educational, and professional advancement. The research, conducted through in-depth interviews with 18 volunteer participants from diverse academic fields such as Sharia Banking, Sharia Economics, Sharia Economic Law, Family Law, Islamic Education, and Early Childhood Islamic Education, reveals that the English community plays a pivotal role in fostering language development. It provides a supportive and immersive environment that facilitates English practice, boosts confidence, and enhances cultural engagement. Moreover, the findings highlight the significant impact of instructors in motivating students by creating a pressure-free atmosphere and encouraging continuous professional development. The study concludes that English language communities, complemented by tailored instructional strategies, are effective in enhancing English learning for non-English majors, empowering them to meet their varied goals and succeed in global settings.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how much influence digital transformation and lifestyle have on consumer behavior (case study of visitors to the Mka Binjai cafe). The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. This data collection technique uses observation, interview and documentation techniques. This research shows that first, the influence of digital transformation has a big influence on customer satisfaction with the cafe. The new phenomenon of a cashless lifestyle supports consumer behavior. The cashless society lifestyle that is often carried out by the millennial generation makes them without hesitation be impulsive and consciously engage in consumer behavior.
