Abstract

Abstract: The Application of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Model in Improving Reading Comprehension Learning for the Fourth Grade Students. The objectives of this research are to improve Reading Comprehension through the application of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) for the fourth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Jatisari in the academic year of 2015/2016. This research is a collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted within three cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Sources of data were derived from students and teachers of fourth grade class in SD Negeri 2 Jatisari. Techniques of collecting data were test and non-test (documentation, observation, and interview). The conclusion of this research is the application of CIRC method can improve reading comprehension skills for the fourth grade students of Negeri 2 Jatisari. Keywords: CIRC, reading comprehension Abstrak: Penerapan Metode Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dalam Peningkatan Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman pada Siswa Kelas IV SD. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Jatisari tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dengan menggunakan metode CIRC. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas Kolaboratif yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu guru dan siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Jatisari. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu penerapan metode CIRC dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Jatisari. Kata Kunci: CIRC, membaca pemahaman
