Abstract

This quantitative descriptive study aims to investigate the effect of risk and return perception on students’ interest for investment. This study was conducted at the Accounting Department of Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya.The object of the research is Accounting students from Class of 2016 and 2018. The data of this study was obtained from questionnaires distributed to 180 quota-samplingselected respondents. The questionnares consist of fifteen question items, measured using Likert scale. The results of the Moderated Regression Analysis in SPSS show that risk and return perceptions have positive influences in the students’ interest for investment and that investment knowledge does not moderate the influence of risk and return perceptions on students’ interest for investment.Keywords: Risk perception, return perception, students’ interest for investment,investment knowledge, investment management.
