Abstract

Penelitian ini tujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk alih kode dan campur kode, serta ingin melihat manfaat atau fungsi penggunaannya pada kegiatan pembelajaran di SMP Negeri 3 Lambu Kibang Tulang Bawang Barat. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk alih kode dan campur kode dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini (1) observasi, (2) wawancara dan (3) teknik sadap. Hasil penelitian diperoleh data dari segi bentuk dan fungsi alih kode dan campur kode. Dari hasil klasifikasi bentuk data campur kode penggunaan bahasa Lampung dalam proses kegiatan pembelajaran yang diperoleh yaitu bentuk yang sering muncul adalah dari segi bentuk kata (24,13%) , frasa (13,79%) dan kalimat (26,72%) serta klausa dan singkatan tidak ditemukan sama sekali. Sedangkan hasil klasifikasi bentuk alih kode penggunaan bahasa Lampung yang sering muncul adalah dari bentuk kalimat sekitar (14,65%) dan kata, frasa, klausa serta singkatan tidak ditemukan sama sekali. Dari fungsi campur kode dan alih kode bahasa Lampung yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pemebelajaran di SMP Negeri 3 Lambu Kibang Tulang Bawang Barat yaitu untuk menjalin keakraban, memberikan penjelasan, penegasan kepada peserta didik serta memahami dan mengetahui materi lebih dalam bagi peserta didik.

Abstract

This research attempts to investigate the improving students’ vocabulary mastery by using English songs at the Eighth Grade of SMP Negeri 2 Gunung Agung Tulang Bawang Barat. The method of this research was conducted by using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The population of the research was 28 students. In this research, the writer took one class for the sample. The writer used observation and tests for the data collecting technique. The writer found that using English songs successfully improved students’ vocabulary mastery. It can be seen from the result of vocabulary activity and mastery. It was increased, from cycle I to cycle II by using English songs. In cycle II, the writer used the same technique but added a few different changes related to the problem in cycle I. The writer found that the average score in cycle I was 54.71, and students who passed the minimum criteria mastery was 46.42% and it increased in cycle II, the average score in cycle II was 73.78, and students who passed the minimum criteria mastery was 75%. Therefore, it can be concluded that this technique was successfully applied in improving students’ vocabulary activity and mastery at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 2 Gunung Agung Tulang Bawang Barat.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to enhance students’ writing ability of the eighth grade through the utilization of Freewriting technique. This research is classified as classroom action research (CAR). the subjects of this research were the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Gunung Agung Tulang Bawang Barat in the academic year of 2020/2021. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and quantitative data analysis. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of four sessions. Based on the analysis of the survey, students improved their writing ability by using free writing techniques based on cycle 2 quantitative and qualitative data. The average score for cycle 1 was 60.38, but for cycle 2 it was 70.86. Moreover, this improvement can also be seen from qualitative data, such as the results of the students’ observation sheet from cycle 1 to cycle 2. The mean score of cycle 1 was 6.70, while the mean score of cycle 2 was 7.32. It showed that the students seemed to be more confidence and motivated began to write. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Freewriting technique can improve students’ writing ability and activity.
