Abstract

This research aimed to compare the performance of the Double Exponential Smoothing and Holt-Winter methods in forecasting the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) for the Horticulture Farmer Subsector in Aceh Province. Secondary data on the NTP for the Aceh Horticulture Subsector from 2020-2023 was obtained from the Aceh Provincial Central Statistics Agency (BPS) website. The data processing was carried out using the R software. The results showed that the Double Exponential Smoothing method had a Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) of 3.413201, a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 2.85835, and a Mean Percentage Error (MPE) of -0.5980113. Meanwhile, the Holt-Winter's Additive method had an RMSE of 4.055652, a MAPE of 3.055992, and an MPE of 0.2534276. The best forecasting method was selected based on the smallest RMSE, MAPE, and MPE values, which was Double Exponential Smoothing. The 12-month forecast using the Double Exponential Smoothing method indicated that the lowest NTP would occur in January 2024 at 106.7195, while the highest NTP would be in December 2024 at 113.6443

Abstract

This research contains learning media based on Microsoft Mathematics software. The research contains algebra learning to increase the self-efficacy of class IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Sakti. The main focus of this research is increasing students' self-efficacy by utilizing learning media based on Microsoft Mathematics software. The population that was the research subject included all class IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Sakti, totaling 210 students. Because the population exceeded 100 students, two classes were chosen as samples, namely one experimental class and one control class, each consisting of 60 students. This research adopts a quasi-experimental method. Data was collected through post-tests and self-efficacy questionnaires, then analyzed using the t-test. The results of data analysis show that the average score for the experimental class is 80.13, while the control class has an average of 70.04. The results of hypothesis testing show tcount ttable 2.703 1.701. Thus, software-based learning media in the learning context, Microsoft Mathematics, can increase students' self-efficacy in algebra material in class IX of SMP Negeri 1 Sakti. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berisi tentang media pembelajaran berbasis software Microsoft Mathematics, dalam penelitian memuat pembelajaran aljabar untuk meningkatkan self-efficacy siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 1 Sakti, fokus utama penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan self-efficacy siswa dengan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis software Microsoft Mathematics. Populasi yang menjadi subjek penelitian termasuk semua siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 1 Sakti yang berjumlah 210 siswa. Karena jumlah populasi ini melebihi 100 siswa maka di pilih dua kelas sebagai sampel, yakni satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol, dengan masing-masing terdiri dari 60 siswa. Penelitian ini mengadopsi metode kuasi-eksperimen. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes akhir dan kuesioner self-efficacy, lalu dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen adalah 80,13, sementara kelas kontrol memiliki rata-rata 70,04. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkanthitung ttabel 2,703 1,701. Dengan demikian media pembelajaran berbasis software dalam konteks pembelajaran, Microsoft Mathematics dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa materi aljabar di kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Sakti.

Abstract

Mathematics becomes more meaningful when it is relevant to real life and students are more engaged in mathematics learning when it relates to them. Contextual teaching and learning (CTL) is a teaching concept that connects knowledge to real-world situations. The present study aims to investigate the effect of CTL on students’ conceptual understanding of geometry. This experimental study employed a pre-test-post-test control group design. The samples are all eighth-grade students in Junior High School 4, Sakti Pidie, A census sampling technique was used in this study since all members of the population served as samples. The experimental class and the control class were randomly selected from the two available classes. The experimental class was taught geometry using CTL while the control class was taught conventionally. Data were collected from pre-test and post-test that were declared valid. Data analysis was performed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality test, the Levene test for homogeneity test, and t-test for the hypothesis testing. The results revealed that students taught using CTL have better conceptual understanding of geometry compared to those who were taught conventionally. It implies that the implementation of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) on geometry learning is effective to promote students’ learning.Keywords: Contextual teaching and learning, conceptual understanding, geometry learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of students of SMA Negeri 1 Sigli through the application of the Project Based Learning learning model using the maple calculator application. The population in this study were all 210 students of grade XI of SMA Negeri 1 Sigli. The population in this study was more than 100, so a sample of 2 (two) classes was taken, namely the experimental class and the control class, totaling 60 students. The research method used was quasi-experimental. The experimental class used the Project Based Learning model using the maple calculator application, while the control class was given learning with conventional methods. Data collection was carried out with a final test, and data processing used the t-test. The results of data analysis showed that the average value of the experimental class was higher, namely 87.40 and the control class 79.27. The results of hypothesis testing obtained t-count t-table, namely 3,541 2,002. Thus, the application of the Project-Based Learning learning model using the maple calculator application can improve the critical thinking skills of students of SMA Negeri 1 Sigli.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary school emphasizes not only the mastery of concepts, but also the development of mathematical connection skills and the management of students' affective aspects, particularly math anxiety. This study aims to analyze the improvement of mathematical connection skills and the reduction of mathematics anxiety of elementary school students through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by the Wordwall educational game. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasy experimental design of the pretest-posttest control group type. The research subjects consisted of 50 grade IV students divided into experimental classes and control classes. The research instruments were in the form of mathematical connection ability tests and mathematical anxiety questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney U, N-gain, and Spearman's rho correlations. The results showed that the mathematical connection ability of students who obtained PBL learning assisted by Wordwall was significantly higher than conventional learning. There is a significant relationship between mathematical connection ability and students' math anxiety. Thus, Wordwall-assisted PBL learning is effective in improving mathematical connection skills and contributes to reducing mathematics anxiety in elementary school students.
