Abstract

Everyone always expects health, and this is one of the indications that individuals have good well-being. Treatment is one of the efforts to be able to restore individual health. There are two types of treatment, namely medical and traditional treatment. Balinese people do not only medical treatment but also traditional treatment known as Balian treatment. The study aimed to determine the process of health-seeking behavior of Balinese people who switch from medical treatment to Balian treatment. The research method is descriptive qualitative, using five respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that the causes of individuals who switch medical treatment to Balian treatment in Bali are dissatisfaction with the results of medical treatment, the influence of significant others, individual beliefs and perceptions of Balian practices, and cultural traditions. The primary purpose of Balinese people switching from medical treatment to Balian treatment is to get healing as a unique effort to achieve well-being.

Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial di kalangan mahasiswa menjadi hal yang penting, tetapi jika tidak adanya kontrol yang baik akan mengarah pada perilaku adiksi. Adiksi media sosial merupakan ketidakmampuan individu dalam mengendalikan penggunaan media sosial sehingga menjadi intensif dan berlebihan yang berdampak pada masalah psikologis dan sosial. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi terkait faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi adiksi media sosial pada mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah dengan literature review pada jurnal nasional maupun internasional dengan rentang waktu tahun 2017-2023 dengan subjek mahasiswa. Melalui 10 jurnal yang dikaji, diperoleh faktor internal dan faktor eksternal yang memengaruhi adiksi media sosial pada mahasiswa. Faktor internal mencakup fear of missing out, the big five factor personality (extraversion, agreeableness, dan neuroticism), kesepian, kecemasan sosial, narsisme, kebosanan, dan stres. Sedangkan faktor eksternal terdiri atas kebutuhan dukungan sosial, motivasi hiburan dan presentasi diri, dan pemenuhan tujuan pribadi. Social media among college students is important, but if there’s no good control, it will lead to addictive behavior. Social media addiction is an individual's inability to control the use of social media that can becomes intensive and excessive, which has an impact on psychological and social problems. This paper aims to provide information related to the factors that influence social media addiction in college students. The method used in this paper is a literature review on national and international journals for the period of 2017-2023. Through the 10 journals studied, internal and external factors that influence social media addiction in college students are obtained. The internal factors include fear of missing out, the big five factors personality (extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism), loneliness, social anxiety, narcissism, boredom, and stress. While external factors consist of the need for social support, entertainment motivation and self-presentation, and fulfillment of personal goals
