Abstract

Abstract. The implementation of the industrial revolution 4.0 policy had a significant impact on the achievement of several strategic fields to support government programs in advancing Indonesia primarily in the field of Education as a basis in science and supporting the technological development process in the field of Education. The 4.0 industrial revolution policy in the field of Education is used to be able to maximize learning media in supporting the learning process so that it gives an impact on the understanding of the murky and is mainly able to implement the knowledge in daily life. The use of cartoon media in the learning process is a form of progress in the field of Education, cartoon media is used as a medium in the learning process to provide interest to the murmur of elementary schools to easily understand the information conveyed through cartoon shows as a learning media in science learning, especially in discussions environment. The impact of the use of cartoon as a learning medium for elementary school students has a pretty good impact on understanding how to protect the environment, so the results of this study directly have a positive impact on the development of elementary school students thinking about the environment and ways to preserve the environment in learning Science. Keywords: learning media, cartoon, environment

Abstract

Abstract. Improving the quality of education through the research of classroom action research which aim to improved learning activities and learning outcomes of learner through applied the learning method of mind mapping in structure and function of animal tissue. The subject of this researched was learners of XI IPA 3 SMAN 1 Pinrang which total 48 learners of school year 2017/2018. Qualitative data which investigated was learning activities observed by observer since learning process, while the quantitative data obtained from the score of making mind mapping, essay test and learning evaluation test. The result of this researched showed that there is enhancement of learning activities on the 1st cycle showed the percentage of learners was 72% for at all indicators which was observed, while on the 2nd cycle enhancement learning activities percentage of learners was 100%. For at all indicators which was observed. The outcomes of learner’s data obtained in the 1st cycle with total the learners not complete was 18 people with percentage 38%, while the outcomes of learners complete was 30 people with percentage 63%. While the outcomes of learners in the 2nd cycle increased with the learners not complete was 6 people with 13%, while the outcomes of learners complete was 42 people with percentage 88%. Abstract

Abstract. This study emphasizes the critical importance of enhancing Classroom Action Research (CAR) as a catalyst for more sustainable Biology education. The primary factors identified include a lack of comprehensive information regarding the implementation of CAR across various regions in Indonesia and the current weaknesses inherent in CAR. The objective of this research is to examine the effectiveness of CAR in improving the understanding of biological concepts and to propose a model for sustainable CAR. A systematic review method following the PRISMA approach was employed to analyze relevant studies. The findings reveal that CAR is effective across almost all Biology teaching methods, enhancing quality through student participation, creativity, and learning outcomes. However, the principal challenge lies in the unsustainable nature of CAR, which hampers long-term improvement efforts. This study develops a sustainable CAR design, referred to as Sustainable Action Research (SAR), which encompasses comprehensive planning, monitored implementation, evaluation of outcomes and processes, and reflective practices to develop new strategies. SAR acts as a catalyst for the renewal of Biology teaching methods, enabling educators to adapt to evolving educational challenges. Recommendations for future research include focusing on the implementation of SAR and evaluating its effectiveness. Active teacher involvement in every stage of SAR is essential to ensure that innovations are aligned with on-the-ground needs. Collaboration between academics and teachers is also crucial to improving the quality of education in Indonesia, particularly in the field of Biology education Keywords: classroom action research, sustainable action research, biology education, sustainable education
