Abstract

Striped snakehead is one of the important economical fish in Aopa Swamp waters. Research on population parameters and exploitation level of striped snakehead was conducted from November 2018 to January 2019. The objective of this research was to analyze population parameters and exploitation level of  striped snakehead in the Rawa Aopa waters in Southeast Sulawesi. Fish samples were caught using a fishing trap used by fishermen. A total of 449 individual fish were caught with ranging 20.0-47.0 cm in length and 59.0-994.0 g in weight. Striped snakehead has an isometric growth pattern (b=3.08 ; r=0.96, R2=0.92) with the equation model W=6.10-3L3,08. Striped snakehead reaches its maximum length in size L ͚ = 48.62 cm with a growth coefficient (K) of 0.68 year-1. Fishing mortality (F= 0.87) is higher than natural mortality (0.63). Exploitation level of striped snakehead in Rawa Aopa waters is categorized as overfishing (E> 0.5).Keywords : Striped snakehead, isometrics, overfishing, Aopa Swamp, Southeast Sulawesi

Abstract

Jaring insang merupakan alat tangkap yang umum digunakan nelayan di Kabupaten Bombana. Penentuan ukuran mata jaring dan shortening masih didasarkan pada pengalaman nelayan secara turun temurun, padahal ukuran mata jaring dan shortening yang tepat menjadi salah satu faktor penentu keberhasilan penangkapan. Sehingga hal ini perlu adanya pengembangan alat tangkap jaring insang berdasarkan shortening yang optimum. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan komposisi jenis, Indeks  Keanekaragaman (H), Indeks Dominansi (C), pendapatan usaha serta menentukan shortening yang lebih baik untuk mendukung keberlanjutan ekologi dan keberlanjutan usaha nelayan. Sampel dikumpulkan setiap 1 kali seminggu pada bulan Oktober 2018 – Desember 2018 menggunakan jaring insang shortening 30 persen dan shortening 40 persen. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara pengoperasian alat tangkap jaring insang dilakukan 1 kali seminggu selama 3 bulan baik yang menggunakan shortening 30 persen maupun  shortening 40 persen. Hasil tangkapan dianalisis komposisi jenis menggunakan rumus Odum, tingkat keanekaragaman jenis di analisis menggunakan Shannon-Wienner (H). Tingkat dominansi spesies dianalisis menggunakan Indeks Simpson (C). Pendapatan usaha dianalisis menggunakan analisis Revenue Cost Ratio dan Payback Period. Untuk menetukan shortening yang lebih baik menggunakan analisis uji t-independent. Hasil menunjukkan tingkat keanekaragam jenis masing-masing shortening 30 persen dan shortening 40 persen dikategorikan tinggi (1,110 dan 1,118). Indeks dominansi masing shortening tergolong rendah (0,499 dan 0,493). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kelayakan usaha dari alat tangkap jaring insang untuk shortening 30 pesen dikategorikan untung dan layak untuk dikembangkan. Hasil Uji t menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap penggunaan shortening 30 persen terhadap hasil tangkapan nilai sig 0,013 < 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan tangkapan ikan masing-masing shortening maka shortening sebaikanya dibuat dengan ukuran 30 persen.

Abstract

Around the Koguna Beach area, which is ± 157 meters from the coastline, there is a closed water like a swamp. These waters are brackish and inhabited by red shrimp (Parhippolyte uveae). The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the shrimp habitat. This research was conducted in November–December 2021 in Mopaano Village, Lasalimu Selatan District, Buton Regency. The research location was deliberately set in 2 zones with different habitat characteristics. The results showed that in Zone 1 red shrimp were found with a high relative abundance which indicated that the zone was favored by red shrimp. Habitat in this zone has characteristics in the form of rocks and mangrove roots, higher density of mangrove canopy cover, as well as parameters of the aquatic environment that are suitable for the life of red shrimp. This habitat is anchialine waters which are still influenced by the tides from the sea but are not directly connected to the surface.
