Abstract

The implementation of this research is due to indications of learning problems related to students' difficulties in understanding mathematics in division material in third grade elementary school which results in students being weak in understanding mathematical concepts. This needs to be improved through the implementation of a brain-based learning model with an open-ended approach so that it affects students' understanding of mathematical concepts. Quasi-experiment with pretest posttest control group design was used as the basis for this research method. The study population consisted of 96 grade 3 students from 5 schools in cluster 5, Klaten. Simple randomization was used as a sampling technique with a sample of 48 students. The research instrument used was a test of 10 questions with essay type. Based on the results of the hypothesis test obtained at 0.018, the brain-based learning model assisted by an open-ended approach has an effect on students' understanding of mathematical concepts with an average increase of 34.96 seen from the pretest and posttest. This research contributes to influencing students' mathematical concept understanding ability in a more positive direction through collaboration between the brain-based learning model with an open-ended approach.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze organizational communication in improving teacher performance at MTs Al-Maidar Pandan. This study used a qualitative approach with field research methods through in-depth interviews and participant observation. The results showed that: First, the principal communicated with the teacher verbally (in the form of meetings, briefings and face to face); and non-verbal (in the form of observations of teacher expressions, gestures and digital communication via smartphones). Second, the principal displays exemplary behavior, skills development and teacher professionalism, as well as a high salary. Third, the head of madrasah held consultations for teachers who are members of MGPM, trained in the use of laptops, and coordinated among teachers as well as education personnel at MTs Al-Maidar Pandan.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA, merupakan proses pembelajaran yang menekankan terhadap pengenalan lingkungan dan alam sekitar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar IPA materi perkembangbiakan makhluk hidup melalui problem based instruction dengan Media Visual pada siswa kelas VI SD. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penitian tindakan kelas dengan jumlah subjek penelitian yakni sebanyak 21 orang siswa. Prosedur pelaksanaan dan implementasi penelitian terbagi dalam dua siklus. Pada akhir tindakan siklus I nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh 72,62 atau sebesar 71,43% mengalami peningkatan 23,81% dari kondisi awal. Pada siklus II diperoleh nilai rata- rata 79,76 atau sebesar 85,71% sehingga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 14,28% dari siklus I. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan problem based instruction dengan media visual dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar perkembangbiakan makhluk hidup pada siswa kelas VI SDN Ismaya Rancadaka Pusakanagara.
