Abstract

As machine learning and data mining applications increasingly permeate sensitive domains, concerns over data privacy have intensified. This narrative review aims to synthesize current knowledge on privacy-preserving techniques in artificial intelligence, exploring the technological, socio-cultural, and economic-policy dimensions that shape their implementation. The review employed literature from databases including Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and PubMed, using keywords such as "privacy-preserving," "machine learning," and "differential privacy" to select peer-reviewed articles based on defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results reveal that differential privacy and federated learning are leading frameworks offering robust solutions for secure computation without compromising analytical performance. Deep learning models demonstrated strong accuracy, particularly when applied to complex datasets such as healthcare records. However, effectiveness is often impeded by systemic issues, including fragmented regulations and uneven infrastructural capacity. Moreover, socio-cultural factors like digital mistrust and limited awareness among users—especially older populations—pose additional barriers. Economic constraints and inconsistent international policy enforcement further complicate adoption across sectors. This review concludes that successful implementation of privacy-preserving technologies depends not only on algorithmic innovation but also on supportive regulatory, cultural, and financial ecosystems. It calls for integrated policy frameworks, targeted public education, and international cooperation to address existing barriers and advance the responsible use of AI in privacy-sensitive applications.

Abstract

Abstract

Background. The current development of information technology requires organizations in various fields, including sports, to have an information system capable of presenting data accurately, quickly, and relevantly. At the Indonesian National Sports Committee (INSC) of Southwest Papua, the process of processing athlete data is still done manually using printed documents and Microsoft Word and Excel files. This method causes various obstacles, including slow input processes, high risk of recording errors, and delays in report generation. These problems have an impact on the effectiveness of the organization in managing and monitoring athlete data. Objectives. This study aims to design and develop a web-based athlete data processing information system that can improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed of data access. Methods. The research method uses the Waterfall software development model, with system design using Unified Modeling Language (UML), PHP programming language, and MySQL database. The subjects of this study were athlete data registered with the Indonesian National Sports Committee (INSC) Southwest Papua. The data includes athletes' personal identities, sports disciplines , achievement histories, and other administrative information used in the coaching and evaluation processes. System testing was conducted to ensure functionality suitability with organizational needs. Results. The results of the study show that the web-based information system that was built can automate the process of inputting, storing, and reporting athlete data in a more structured manner. This system has been proven to speed up the data processing process, minimize potential errors, and support information transparency. Conclusion. Thus, this research contributes to the development of information technology in the field of sports, particularly in the management of athlete data at the regional level. The implementation of this system is expected to improve the administrative performance of INSC Southwest Papua and serve as a model for the implementation of similar systems for other sports organizations in Indonesia.

Abstract

Digital transformation is pushing schools to adopt efficient academic information systems, but many schools in 3T areas including SMK Muhammadiyah Aimas still manage grades manually, making them prone to input errors, data duplication, and slow academic recap and reporting processes. This situation shows how important it is to find a systematic way to make value management more accurate, efficient, and open. This research aims to develop and evaluate a web-based system for managing value, designed to meet the needs of vocational schools in a limited context. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the developed system integrates master data management, daily values, midterm exams, final exams, attendance, and automatic final grade calculation. The test results show that all features function according to specifications, while expert validation places the software aspect in the "very good" category. Usability testing by teachers yielded a score of 93%, indicating a high level of ease of use, satisfaction, and utility. The novel contribution of this research is the creation of a web-based value system that amalgamates value and attendance automation within the framework of 3T schools, a subject that remains infrequently examined. The study's limitations include the absence of API integration and its focus on a single school for evaluation. Nevertheless, this system has important implications for improving teachers' work efficiency and accelerating school digitalization in 3T.
