Abstract

This research is motivated by the condition of differences in students' levels of understanding of biology learning material which causes the learning process in class to become passive, apart from that students also have low interest in reading and rarely repeat learning material at home. The solution that the author offers is to develop additional audio-based learning media to help students learn independently outside the classroom. This learning media can be listened to by students whenever and wherever they are. The objectives of this research include analyzing the needs of teachers and students for the media being developed and to determine the validity and practicality of developing biology podcast media on class XI digestive system material. MIPA. The method used in this research is research and development (R&D) with a 4D approach (define, design, develop, and disseminate), but this research did not reach the dessiminate. The instruments used in this research were student needs analysis sheets for learning media development, validity test sheets, and practicality test sheets for Podcast media. Based on this research, the percentage of validity of podcast media was 86% in the very valid category, practicality by teachers was 85% in the very practical category, and practicality by students was 74% in the practical category. It can be concluded that the podcast media is in accordance with the needs of teachers and students and is ready and practical to use.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the learning process to change from face-to-face to online learning, without exception it has also occurred at Islamic Universities in Indonesia. Therefore, an online learning design with WhatsApp and Google Classroom was conduct to improved critical thinking (CT), information communication and technology (ICT), and technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) of Prospective Biology Teachers in Islamic Universities (PBTs-IU). The aims of this study was to investigate prospective biology teacher’s perceptions of critical thinking, ICT and TPACK skills of during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used quantitative descriptive method. Data were collected from 195 PBTs-IU, with of 19 males and 176 females. The quality of the instrument was achieved use confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and alpha Cronbach tests. Then, paired sample correlations test was used to confirmed the hypothesis. The result of the study showed that there is different with CT, ICT and TPACK skill pre-course with post-course PBTs-IU. This finding also showed that score CT, ICT and TPACK of PBTs-IU for post-course is higher than pre-course. In concluded, there was a significant difference score for pre-course and post course about prospective biology teacher’s perceptions of CT, ICT and TPACK skills of during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui materi apa saja yang memiliki nilai-nilai toleransi, mendeskripsikan proses penanaman nilai-nilai toleransi dan faktor pendukung, penghambat penanaman nilai-nilai toleransi pada pembelajaran sains kelas VIII semester II di SMP Pesantren Pramuka Alhira Padang Panjang. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan diketahui bahwa semua materi sains memiliki potensi konflik dan memiliki nilai-nilai toleransi. Materi yang memiliki tingkat kerawanan tinggi untuk terjadi konflik adalah materi sistem peredaran darah manusia karena berhubungan dengan manusia dan kehidupan sehari-hari yang berkaitan dengan pribadi siswa. Penanaman nilai-nilai toleransi dilakukan dengan menciptakan iklim toleran pada setiap pembelajaran sains serta memelihara sikap saling pengertian, saling menghargai dan saling menghormati. Beberapa faktor pendukung dan penghambat penanaman nilai-nilai toleransi tersebut adalah, faktor pendukung diantaranya: Kebijakan peraturan pemerintah, kemampuan guru dalam internalisasi nilai toleransi, dan kegiatan-kegiatan pendukung dari pihak sekolah yang berperan penting dalam proses penanaman nilai toleransi seperti kegiatan keagamaan, kegiatan kepramukaan dan kegiatan sosial. Adapaun faktor penghambat diantaranya: Tingkat kemampuan, kematangan emosional siswa yang tidak sama, kurangnya fasilitas pada ruangan laboratorium pada saat praktikum yang dapat menunjang penanaman nilai-nilai toleransi. Jadi dapat disimpulkan penelitian ini telah dapat mengungkap model toleransi pada pembelajaran sains kelas VIII semester II di SMP Pesantren Pramuka Alhira.
