Abstract

The study aims to determine the presence or no difference to the income and productivity between farmers ginger practitioners SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and Non-SOP held in June 2015 in the village Gayamharjo Prambanan Sleman District of DIY. Data obtained from 30 respondents through interviews using a questionnaire. Farmers selected by proportional random sampling of 30 people are farmers who are members of 12 (twelve) farmer group. Data analysis was performed using t-test aimed to examine differences in the average of two samples on a variable. Results of the study that there is a difference between the income of farmers ginger practitioners SOP and Non-SOP, is influenced by the differences in selling prices and production. There is a difference to productivity between farmers ginger practitioners SOP and Non-SOP, the differences are influenced by cultivation techniques and the use of production factors.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the achievements of the Contract-based Agriculture Extension Workers Program (Program THL TBPP) in D.I. Yogyakarta Province, regarding the programs relevance to the presents needs, the participants characteristics, the quality of the introductory training implementation, the participants role at their respective placement locations, as well as BPP directors and farmer groups perceptions towards the extension workers. The approach in this research uses the CIPP (contex, input, process, product) model by Stufflebeam. The subject includes all 74 program participants, 74 board members of farmer group, and 20 BPP directors. The descriptive quantitative data analysis is done with SPSS 16.00 for Windows. This research reveals that the program is relevant to the need for agriculture extension services, the participantscharacteristics varies in the term of experience and educational background, accordingly introductory training and placement should be taken into consideration. The participantsmotivation at the work is relatively good. The quality of introductory training is relatively good, but need improvement in several aspects. BPP directors and farmer groups perceptions of the extension workers in performing their task are relatively good.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to identify: (1) the factors which influenced the progressiveness of coastal land farmer groups in Kulon Progo Regency, (2) the most significant factor which influenced. The study was conducted at Kulon Progo Regency by taking 30 farmer groups in Temon Sub-Regency (15 groups/4 villages), Wates Sub-Regency (3 groups/1 village), Panjatan Sub-Regency (8 groups/3 villages), and Galur Sub-Regency (4 groups/2 villages). Analysis of descriptive, multiple linear regression, and path analysis are used in this study. The progressiveness of coastal land farmer groups in Kulon Progo Regency is influenced by the role of extension worker, groups leadership, cohesiveness of groups and the role of village government officer.
