Abstract

Petanque: Is Direct Instruction can improve the shooting and pointing abilities of athletes? AbstractThis research aimed to determine whether the use of direct instruction models can improve the shooting and pointing abilities of Papuan petanque athletes. The action research will be used with the subject of the study being the Papuan petanque athletes taken by total sampling technique (n = 22). There are three instruments used, namely tests (pointing and shooting), observation sheets, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive and dependent sample t-test. The results of the study found that the use of direct instruction models can improve shooting and pointing abilities in Papuan petanque athletes. Besides, the application of the DI model is also loved by athletes because it integrates directly between theory and practice.
