Abstract

Social media was born as a derivative of information and communication technology (ICT) development. It is stimulating new habits for people to produce, consumption, and distribution information in online interaction. Although many researchers have studied social media, no one has provided attention to social media and ulama (Islamic scholar). This article aims to describe patterns of ownership, access, perceived usefulness, and ease of use of social media among ulama. Based on qualitative research in Ogan Ilir District, South Sumatera Province, we found that the acceptability of social media among ulama in Ogan Ilir District is positive. Online life has become the new identity of ulama in this area. They use social media for broadcasting da’wah message and selling or buying goods and service. However, no ulama are producing their messages of da'wah. Facebook is the most popular social media among ulama. We also find that feeling safe and comfortable, get the real benefits from social media, network quality, and jihad in cyberspace have positive contributions to social media adoption within ulama. We identify the availability of time, audience response, negative content, addictive situations, and internet cost as the inhibiting factor of social media adoption among ulama. We discussed these findings and suggested practical recommendations and agenda for further research.

Abstract

Hingga kini, penetrasi teknologi informasi dan komunikasi di Indonesia masih dihadapkan pada persoalan kesenjangan digital. Upaya menjelaskan fenomena kesenjangan digital ini mendesak untuk dijawab karena pemerintah begitu ekspansif memperkenalkan internet kepada masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan karakteristik kesenjangan digital di Kota Lubuklinggau, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), dan Kota Palembang. Riset dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif-deskriptif dan menggunakan framework “have” dan “have not”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan digital antarkota dalam Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Kesenjangan ini berbentuk perbedaan kepemilikan, akses, dan penggunaan. Kesenjangan digital tidak hanya persoalan akses, tetapi juga persoalan kemampuan, penggunaan, dan ketidakadilan sosial. Kepemilikan, ketersediaan akses, dan penggunaan di daerah urban cenderung lebih tinggi dibandingkan daerah rural. Kata kunci: kesenjangan digital, kepemilikan perangkat, akses, penggunaan.

Abstract

Abstract : This research is motivated by the influence of PPKn TeacherCommunication Against Student Learning Outcomes. The formulation of the researchproblem is: "How do PPKn teacher communication at MTs Darul-Hikmah Pekanbaruschool?" "How do you learn about PPKn at the MTs Darul-Hikmah Pekanbaruschool?" Is there any effect of PPKn teacher communication on learning outcomes atthe MTs Darul-Hikmah Pekanbaru School? ". The purpose of the study was todetermine the communication of PPKn teachers at MTs Darul-Hikmah pekanbaru, tofind out the student learning outcomes in PPKn subjects at the MTs Darul-HikmahPekanbaru school and to find out the influence of PPKn teacher communication onstudent learning outcomes in PPKn subjects at Darul-Hikmah MTs Pekanbaru. Thisresearch was conducted at MTs Darul-Hikmah Pekanbaru in July 2018, this researchwas a quantitative descriptive population of 73 students with the straifet rendomsampling technique. Data collection instruments are questionnaires with a total of 16questions. Thus there is a positive influence of PPKn teacher communication on studentlearning outcomes ". This is evidenced by testing the hypothesis between Variable X andVariable Y, obtained by calculating F by 2,381, the Fcount value is then compared withthe Ftable value with a 95% confidence level, is 1,771 because Fcount> Ftable (2,381>1,771), then the hypothesis is accepted thus it was concluded that there was asignificant influence of teacher communication on learning outcomes with a coefficientof determination of 38.53 while 61.47% was influenced by other variables not includedin this study.Keywords: Teacher Communication, Learning Outcomes.
