Abstract

The objective of this research is to know how big the impact of co-curricular program to social skill. Samples are 59 the students of Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung who follow the activities of co-curricular field of Arts, Special Skills and Sports.  Attributes of Social Skills include: Co-operation, Assertiveness, Empathy, and Self-Control. The questionnaire technique using the scale of assessment of Linkert model.  The data were analyzed by using factor analysis to find out which factors were dominant and how the ranking variables.  The results showed that students of co-curricular participants could form social skills by 66%, while the social skill formation by the co-curricular in the respective fields: art-62.44%, special skills-59.22%, and sports-81, 78%, the rest in the stimulus by other factors that have not been revealed.  The co-curricular field of sports contributes the most dominant in the formation of students' social skills compared to other fields. There is a variation in the sequence of dominant factors of social skills variables for each field of co-curricular activity. The dominant of the social skills of each co-curricular programs differs.  In terms of art skill, the dominant factor is self-control. In relation to specific technical skill, empathy dominates the factor. Meanwhile in sport skill, the factor is dominated by assertiveness.

Abstract

Loading and unloading process may lead stress to the animal. The stress can be observed from behavior action of the animal. The aim of the study was to assess behavior during loading and unloading process. Total 24 loading groups (LG) with 11 Brahman cross cattles for each LG was observed during study. An average bodyweight of the cattle was 521±28.14 kg. The data was analyzed descriptively with score, frequency and duration of each behavior action. The results showed that the cattle had loading time of S score (very bad) and behavior score 3 (average). Meanwhile the unloading time of T score (very good) and behavior score of 3 (average). Slips, jump, and fall behavior were the behavior that frequent occured during the loading and unloading process. In general, the loading process potentially stressful for cattle compare to unloading process.

Abstract

Purpose: Mussaenda frondosa is a rare plant species native to Indonesia’s tropical forests, with limited research focused on its classification and identification, particularly using machine learning. This study aims to develop a classification model for Mussaenda species using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) approach to support the advancement of automated plant identification systems. Methodology/approach: The dataset used consists of 650 labeled images, categorized into six primary parts of the plant: leaves, stems, twigs, fruits, flowers, and trees. A CNN model was developed and trained over 200 epochs to classify the images according to these categories. Preprocessing techniques such as resizing, normalization, and data augmentation were applied to enhance model performance. Results/findings: The trained CNN model achieved an accuracy of 80%, demonstrating its ability to classify Mussaenda frondosa components despite the relatively small dataset. Visual inspection of prediction outputs showed consistent identification across several categories, particularly leaves and flowers. Conclusion: The results suggest that CNN can be effectively used to classify rare plant species like Mussaenda frondosa. The model's performance also indicates that even a limited dataset, when properly processed, can yield promising classification results. Limitations: The main limitation of this research is the small dataset size, which may restrict the model's generalizability to broader plant species or more diverse environmental conditions.. Contribution: This study contributes to the field of plant classification by providing a foundation dataset and a validated CNN model for rare tropical species. It opens pathways for further research in biodiversity monitoring and conservation using AI.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran berperan penting dalam proses pendidikan karena membantu menyampaikan pesan dan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Salah satu media yang efektif untuk meningkatkan minat membaca adalah komik, yang menggabungkan teks dan ilustrasi menarik sehingga lebih mudah dipahami siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media komik cerita anak untuk meningkatkan minat baca siswa kelas III MI DDI 1 Palopo. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi angket praktikalitas siswa, angket praktikalitas guru, serta angket minat baca yang digunakan sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media komik. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif untuk menilai kepraktisan media, efektivitas penggunaan, serta perubahan tingkat minat baca siswa. Uji praktikalitas melibatkan 28 siswa dan satu guru sebagai responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media komik dinilai sangat praktis, mudah digunakan, dan efektif dalam mendukung pembelajaran. Berdasarkan angket siswa, minat baca meningkat secara signifikan dari 36% sebelum penggunaanmedia menjadi 81% setelah penggunaan media, dengan peningkatan sebesar 45%. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa media komik cerita anak memiliki pengaruh kuat dalam meningkatkan minat baca siswa sekolah dasar serta layak digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran literasi.
