Abstract

Mangrove forest is a permanent habitat and transit area for various fauna. In the mangrove community, it forms a mixed habitat between terrestrial and aquatic fauna groups. This study aims to analyze the composition of mangrove species and the abundance of insects. There are 3 research station on the mangrove forest ecosystem on Payum beach. Sampling was carried out using the Line Transect method, starting with making a line transect (50 meters) on the outermost mangrove stands and pulling them inland. On each transect line a plot measuring 10 x 10 m is placed, in each of which 5 subplots/quadrants measuring 1 x 1 m are placed. Each transect line consist of 3 plots and 15 sub-plots will be obtained, so there are a total of 45 sub-plots. Based on the research results, it was found that several types of macrobenthos live abundantly and are associated with mangrove ecosystems, such as Terebralia palustris, Terebralia semistriata, Nerita sp., Cassidula angulifera, Cerithidea sp., Telescopium telescopium. Four species of mangroves are found on Payum Beach, Merauke Regency, South Papua Province, namely Avicennia alba, Rhizophora apiculate, Sonneratia alba, and Aegialitis annulata. The insect diversity index in the mangrove forest on Payum Beach in Merauke is H'=2.61, which indicates that the environmental conditions of Payum Beach are still quite good and insect diversity is in the medium category. The evenness index of 0.42 is included in the medium category because human activities vary, and the dominance index is 0.63 because the Payum Beach mangrove forest has various types of insects with moderate dominance.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to build the Nasem village into a safe, friendly and prosperous village of agrotourism by developing organic farming. The current condition of the residents of Nasem village usually still buys the necessities of life from outside the Nasem village, both vegetables and other ingredients. Organic agriculture is a production management system that can improve soil health and the quality of soil ecosystems and crop production. In its implementation, organic agriculture focuses on the use of natural materials that can improve and even improve soil quality. The development and application of the organic farming approach continues to increase along with the increasing clarity of the negative impacts and increasing population awareness about the dangers of using chemicals. Organic farming system that aims to maintain harmony with the natural system, by utilizing and developing as much as possible natural processes in the management of farming. Planting vegetables such as leeks, petsay, cabbage and kale need the right cultivation techniques so that increased production can be in line with the quality of the products produced. The Nasem village farmers do not have the knowledge and skills to grow vegetables after returning from the neighbouring state of Papua New Guinea. For this reason, it is very necessary to conduct training in organic farming skills so that the concept has been applied by the Nasem community from the start. It is expected in the future that Nasem village farmers can produce vegetable products that are free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. In addition, with the training to plant vegetables organically, it will improve the economy of the community and make people consume healthy vegetables. This service is expected to be carried out continuously. Keywords: Nasem, organic, agrotourism.

Abstract

The slender rice bug (Leptocorisa oratorius) is an important pest in Merauke Regency because it can cause a decrease in rice production. Rice plants that are attacked by this pest will produce rice with poor quality, because the color becomes black spots and can calcify. This study aims to determine the level of attack and population density of L. oratorius in the Tanah Miring Merauke District, Papua Province. The method used in this research was purposive sampling. Determination of sampling locations by selecting a paddy field with a minimum size of 1250 m2 on one rice field per variety, then determining 9 sampling points. Sampling of the slender rice bug used an insect net with a diameter of 40 cm which was carried out in 1 double swing at each point measuring 1 x 1 m. The results showed that the average intensity of damage caused by stink bugs in Tanah Miring District was 13.78%. The highest average population density was in Waninggap Miraf village with 46.6 individuals, Yasamulya village, Isanombias village with 44.33 individuals, Yabamaru village with 38.66 individuals, Bersehati village with 38.33 and the lowest was Amunkay village with 30 individuals. While the population average in each observation was highest in the second observation or 55 HST of 46.4 individuals followed by the first observation or 45 HST of 37.4 individuals and the last observation or 65 HST of  29.8 individuals. The most preferred type of variety by the stink bug was Impari 32 (19.76%). Monitoring the development of the slender rice bug population is necessary to prevent the possibility of a population explosion so that it can be controlled earlier.
