Abstract

Pembentukan Karakter Siswa Melalui Kegiatan di Sekolah dan Peran Guru Undang-Undang nomor 20 tahun 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional pasal 3, bertujuan untuk mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa, dan berfungsi untuk membentuk watak atau karakter bangsa Indonesia. Pendidikan tak cukup hanya untuk membuat anak pandai, tetapi harus mampu menciptakan nilai-nilai luhur atau karakter bangsa. Oleh karena itu, penanaman nilai luhur atau karakter harus dimulai sejak dini sehingga nantinya mampu menjadi anak bangsa yang membanggakan. Menghadapi permasalahan penurunan moral atau karaker pada anak di sekolah, diperlukan inovasi-inovasi untuk membentuk karakter pada diri anak agar mengurangi berbagai krisis moral. Melalui studi kajian pustaka diketahui bahwa pendidikan karakter adalah pendidikan nilai, pendidikan budi pekerti, pendidikan moral, pendidikan watak yang bertujuan mengembangkan kemampuan seluruh warga sekolah. Pembentukan karakter siswa di sekolah, dapat dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan di sekolah dan peran guru. Kegiatan di sekolah dapat dilaksanakan melalui berbagai kegiatan rutin dan spontan guna membentuk anak melakukan nilai-nilai perilaku yang positif atau baik. Sedangkan melalui peran guru dapat dilakukan melalui kegiatan pembelajaran dan keteladanan. Dari kesimpulan tersebut disarankan bagi sekolah, kegiatan rutin dan spontan dibutuhkan kepedulian dan kerja sama yang baik antara pihak sekolah, komite sekolah, dan orang tua. Bagi guru, dapat mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang berinovasi dalam pembentukan karakter serta memberikan contoh perilaku yang baik melalui keteladanan

Abstract

Education is a process that people go through with certain methods to gain knowledge, understanding, and how to behave according to their needs. One of the efforts to improve the quality of education is to increase quality human resources (HR). Improving the quality of human resources focuses on critical thinking skills. This is an important agenda and a vital issue in modern education in the era of globalization. Schools as educational institutions that provide knowledge or experience to students in accordance with the demands of the 21st century are required to be able to foster critical thinking through various activities. Through literature review it is known that critical thinking is an organized process made possible by students in evaluating evidence, assumptions, logic, and the language that underlies other people's statements. To foster critical thinking in students, the role of the teacher and the role of the school is needed. In fostering critical thinking in students through the role of the teacher, it can be done through learning activities and giving HOTS questions. Meanwhile, the role of the school can be carried out through extracurricular activities, the school literacy movement, and the student council. From these conclusions, it is suggested for teachers to develop other learning strategies and assessments that help students in higher order thinking, and for schools to develop other activities that form critical thinking patterns in students in solving problems independently and being able to filter the information that enters them.

Abstract

Learning is an interaction between students and teachers along with learning resources in a learning environment. Teachers who have high creativity and innovation will be seen in bringing student success during learning in order to achieve learning targets. To measure learning targets obtained through learning outcomes. Student learning outcomes are influenced by two factors, namely internal factors and external factors. One of the internal factors is interest in learning. A teacher is said to be professional if he is able to develop interest in students to learn. This is a challenge for a teacher to foster interest in students in participating in the learning process. Through literature review, it is known that interest in learning is the emergence of a sense of interest, attention, and having more desires in individuals without anyone pushing them to have feelings of pleasure without being forced so that changes in behavior, knowledge, and skills occur. Based on these conclusions, it is suggested that teachers are required to be enthusiastic accompanied by great creativity and innovation in fostering interest in learning in students, namely using learning methods, using learning media, using learning materials, utilizing infrastructure, and giving gifts. And it is recommended for school residents to do the same in fostering student interest in learning so that all lessons taught in class do not become a scourge.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss some activities that can improve the professionalism of teachers in schools. The results of a survey conducted by PGRI regarding the impact of teacher professional certification on teacher performance show that the performance of teachers who have passed certification is still unsatisfactory and the performance of certified teachers is not satisfactory. Some of the activities of teachers in schools to improve their professionalism are making learning implementation plans, implementing student-centered learning strategies, carrying out an assessment of learning outcomes, self-development, carrying out scientific publications and innovative works, using learning media, and providing examples and guidance. Through some teacher activities at the school, the assumption that the results of the PGRI survey regarding the performance of certified teachers have not been satisfactory will be refuted or incorrect.
