Abstract

316L austenitic stainless steel was usually used in the nuclear power plant. This steel has an austenitic phase at room temperature, and it can change grain size after exposed at high temperatures. The purpose is to investigate grain growth behavior and hardness of 316L austenitic stainless steel after cold-rolled and annealing at a temperature of 1100 °C with holding times of 0, 900, 1800, 2700, 3600 s. The result shows that the grain growth of 316L austenitic stainless steel occurs normally. Austenite grain size of 316L increases with increasing holding time, resulting in hardness decreases. Grain growth of 316L austenitic stainless steel resulting from the experiment shows no difference significant with the prediction.

Abstract

The increasing demands of industrial environments require companies to develop efficient, orderly, and safe workplace systems. One approach that supports this need is the 5S workplace management system, consisting of Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke. This community service activity aims to improve workers’ understanding and application of the 5S concept at PT. PLN Nusantara Power through socialization and direct implementation. The program was conducted on 15–16 April 2024 involving 20 participants. The implementation method consisted of four stages: preparation, socialization, practical implementation, and evaluation. Socialization was delivered interactively to introduce the basic concepts and benefits of 5S in industrial settings, while the implementation stage involved direct practice in workplace organization, sorting, and cleaning activities. Evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test assessments, observation, and reflective discussion. The results show a significant increase in participants’ understanding of 5S, from 30% at the initial stage to 75% after the program. This improvement indicates that combining theoretical explanation with hands-on practice is effective in enhancing comprehension and awareness of workplace organization systems.

Abstract

Condensate produced in PLTMG operations may create puddles, reduce workplace cleanliness, and increase accident risks if not properly managed. This community service activity aimed to improve workers’ understanding of condensate management to support safety and environmental cleanliness at PLTMG Bangkanai. The program was conducted on 15–16 April 2026 involving 10 workers. The implementation method consisted of four stages: preparation, material delivery, field assistance, and evaluation. The training focused on understanding condensate hazards and safe handling procedures, while field assistance ensured proper implementation in the operational area. The results showed improved worker awareness in area inspection, puddle handling, and reporting coordination. Overall, the activity positively enhanced workers’ understanding and behavior in maintaining a safer and cleaner operational environment
