Abstract

The Sedina Ning UCIC program is a new approach in student orientation activities aimed at fostering a culture of knowledge sharing among incoming university students. This initiative emphasizes active participation through a series of educational activities such as group discussions, digital learning simulations, interactive games, and sharing sessions with lecturers and senior students. Implemented using a social constructivist approach, the program consists of three main phases: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Observations during the program indicate a high level of engagement among participants, as well as improved understanding of academic values and the importance of building social relationships within the campus environment. Evaluation through participant feedback also revealed that the program effectively supported students’ adaptation to university life. Based on these outcomes, the program is considered a strong model for orientation activities that integrate educational values with student involvement.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the influence of stakeholder participation and institutional coordination on the effectiveness of adaptive coastal governance in Bulukumba. Subjects and Methods: A quantitative explanatory design was employed using a cross-sectional survey of key stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and NGOs. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression to assess relationships and predictive effects. Results: The findings reveal that both stakeholder participation and institutional coordination have significant positive effects on governance effectiveness, with participation emerging as the stronger predictor. The model demonstrates substantial explanatory power, indicating that governance outcomes are shaped by the interaction of relational and institutional factors. Participation enhances inclusiveness, legitimacy, and adaptive capacity, while coordination ensures policy coherence and implementation consistency. Conclusions: Effective adaptive coastal governance requires the integration of meaningful stakeholder engagement and strong institutional coordination to achieve resilient, responsive, and sustainable governance systems.

Abstract

Hydrogels represent a promising alternative for plant cultivation, offering excellent water and nutrient retention. This study reports the synthesis and characterization of an agarose-based hydrogel composite enhanced with eggshell powder (ESP). The hydrogel composites were prepared in four agarose-to-ESP ratios: 10:0 (Hyd-ES0), 10:1 (Hyd-ES1), 10:3 (Hyd-ES3), and 10:5 (Hyd-ES5). Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis revealed minimal peak shifts, indicating no significant chemical modifications. Characteristic ESP peaks were identified in the composite hydrogels, confirming the effective integration of ESP into the agarose matrix. The addition of ESP reduced the decomposition rate of the hydrogels and increased macromolecular stability. Density measurements indicated higher density with increasing ESP concentration, supported by enhanced crystal formation, as evidenced by more intense diffraction peaks in X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns. Morphological analysis revealed that the porosity of the hydrogel, swelling, and weight-loss tests showed a decline in both properties with higher ESP content. Seed germination experiments demonstrated that stem, root, and leaf growth, as well as fresh and dry weights, were most optimal with the Hyd-ES1 hydrogel composite. Thus, Hyd-ES1 hydrogel exhibits significant potential as a medium for seed germination and plant growth.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap analisis perbedaan pemanfaatan wakaf di Universitas Global, yaitu Universitas Al-Azhar dan Oxford, dibandingkan dengan Universitas di Indonesia. Perbedaan ini sangat relevan untuk dikaji karena menunjukkan kontras yang signifikan dalam struktur pengelolaan wakaf, yang berpotensi mempengaruhi keberlanjutan dan kualitas pendidikan. Studi sebelumnya sebagian besar terfokus pada pengelolaan wakaf dalam konteks Islam, namun kurang membahas perbandingan antara institusi pendidikan tinggi secara global dengan lokal. Rumusan masalah yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana perbedaan struktur dan tujuan pemanfaatan dana wakaf mempengaruhi keberlanjutan pendidikan di ketiga institusi ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan analisis literatur dan perbandingan data sekunder yang mengkaji pengelolaan wakaf di Universitas Al-Azhar, Oxford dan di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa universitas global mengelola dana wakaf dengan struktur profesional yang berfokus pada investasi jangka panjang untuk riset, beasiswa, dan pengembangan kampus, sementara universitas di Indonesia lebih mengutamakan kebutuhan operasional. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan kapasitas manajerial dan transparansi dalam pengelolaan wakaf universitas di Indonesia agar dapat mendukung keberlanjutan pendidikan secara lebih efektif. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini adalah penguatan profesionalitas pengelolaan wakaf universitas di Indonesia serta adaptasi kebijakan yang mendukung pertumbuhan jangka panjang.
