Abstract

Studies for corrugated metal gaskets are still ongoing to improve its performance. This is considered to be a single gasket with SUS304 material when contact with flanges that have greater surface roughness, reduced contact width and plastic deformed contact surfaces are incomplete and cannot fill the surface roughness of flanged flanges. The use of softer material than the base material as a surface covering material is used to improve the performance of the gasket. In this study, therefore the effect of modulus of elasticity ratio and thickness ratio on contact width and contact stress, 25A three-layer metal gasket was investigated using Finite Element Analysis. The results showed that the material with tangent modulus, Ehal = Eal / 150 had the highest slope for contact width. While the contact width of the plastic mode gasket is higher than the elastic mode gasket.

Abstract

The creation of questionnaire forms based on research papers has been done for various purposes. In previous studies, the surveyor intentionally created questions to be used in questionnaires based on secondary research and the knowledge of the researcher, and it is unclear what procedure was used to create the questions. Therefore, in this study, we examined and discussed methods of mechanically creating questions based on a review of research papers. As a result, we proposed a new method to create questions by mechanically combining words obtained from the article search, text mining of extracted articles, and co-occurrence word search.

Abstract

In development of technology and product, it’s important to make decisions based on technology trend. Some previous studies obtained technology trend based on patent information. In our previous study, we tried to investigate the state of innovation and the emergence of dominant design by using patent information. We analyzed inkjet printers and NC machines with theme codes and F term codes in Japanese patent classification codes. In this study, we tried to know the change of technology of other products other than inkjet printers or NC machines by using patent information. The target product of this study is camera. Camera products changed its key technology of imaging and recording from analogue film to digital imaging sensor and semiconductor memories. We attempted to obtain this change by using patent information.

Abstract

Previous studies into the elements that influence the growth factors of SME show that creating new values by innovation is a key to sustainable business progress, and also that there are constant demands for creating innovation in the society. In response to such demands, there have been various models developed on creating innovation. Many have pointed out the importance of grasping the innovation not as a solution for a single problem but for the whole process of engineering development - as a system which integrates the product manufacturing, engineering and business application. Furthermore, such innovation is increasingly considered significant in the studies on the elements influencing the factors that lead to constant progress of business of, not only SME, but also companies in general. In this study, we took an example of a Japanese manufacturer which achieved the position of a niche top and has been successful in continually growing in business to investigate on and analyze the following two subjects; “the elements influencing the growth factor of an enterprise” and “the transition of the growth factors in accordance with each product lifecycle”. The result hereby shows the different elements that can create a value affecting the business growth factors in the respective stages of product lifecycle, such as Introduction, Growth and Maturity.Â
