Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of board character as measured by the size of the Sharia supervisory board, the size of the board of commissioners, the size of the board of directors, and institutional ownership. The research was conducted using the Pooled Least Square (PLS) method involving 15 Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia in 2017-2021. The results of this study show that the size of the board of directors has a positive effect on operational risk disclosure. In contrast, the size of the sharia supervisory board, the size of the board of commissioners, and institutional ownership do not affect operational risk disclosure. These findings have implications for policymakers and regulators of Islamic commercial banks regarding the development and implementation of the influence of board characteristics and institutional ownership that can improve operational risk disclosure. This research contributes to meeting the needs and increasing understanding of the influence of board character and institutional ownership. This can help Islamic commercial banks engage in effective compliance when carrying out operational risk disclosures.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tahapan sampling dalam konteks penelitian ilmiah, khususnya dalam pembelajaran metodologi penelitian. Sampling merupakan langkah krusial dalam tahapan penelitian yang sangat mempengaruhi validitas dan generalisasi hasil penelitian. Dalam pembelajaran metodologi penelitian, pemahaman yang tepat tentang teknik sampling sangat penting untuk menghasilkan data yang representatif dan minim bias. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi berbagai tahapan dalam proses sampling, termasuk penentuan populasi, pemilihan sampel, serta teknik-teknik sampling seperti sampling acak, sampling stratifikasi, dan sampling kluster. Setiap teknik dibahas dalam konteks kelebihan dan kekurangannya, serta relevansinya terhadap jenis penelitian yang berbeda, seperti penelitian kuantitatif, kualitatif, dan eksperimen. Penelitian ini juga mengeksplorasi tantangan yang dihadapi peneliti dalam memilih teknik sampling yang tepat dan dampaknya terhadap hasil penelitian. Temuan dari analisis ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pembelajaran metodologi penelitian, sehingga peneliti dan mahasiswa dapat memahami pentingnya pemilihan teknik sampling yang sesuai dalam setiap tahapan penelitian.

Abstract

Phenol is a priority pollutant that poses a significant risk to human health and ecological systems when released into aquatic environments. Consequently, numerous technologies have been developed and implemented to remove phenol from wastewater. These technologies can be classified into physical, chemical, and biological techniques. While conventional treatment methods can effectively remove phenol, some are more economical and less environmentally beneficial. This overview, which is based on a collation of relevant and comprehensive literatures, emphasizes various phenolic pollutants in wastewater and how mycoremediation can be implemented to address these issues. Mycoremediation research has been chiefly directed on investigating the effects of various conditions on phenol degradation and evaluating its effectiveness under controlled experiments. Moreover, mycoremediation enables a doable solution for mitigating pollution, improving water quality, and supporting biodiversity in aquatic ecosystems. These also mean that advancing mycoremediation encourages environmentally sustainable practice. However, the remaining gaps exist in current research including the toxicity assessment of degradation by-products, the application of synthetic biology methods for chassis modification, creation and development of innovative immobilization methods, improvement of remediation efficiency by integration of multiple technologies and scalability of mycoremediation for practical wastewater treatments. These areas warrant further research to advance the greater potential of mycoremediation.
