Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to know the influence of quantum learning strategy with mind mapping technique on learning outcomes in material of the excretion system at VIII SMPN 3 Sungai Raya. This research used quasy experiment design with non equivalent control group design. The population are class VIII SMP which consist of two classes with VIII A (as an experiment class) and VIII B (as a control class), with a sampling technique of intact group. The instrument that used was multiple choices consisted of 20 questions. Based on the research result, the average of posttest result of experimental class was 15.03 and the control class was 14.08. The result of the U Mann-Whitney test,  analysis showed that Zcount < -Ztable (-2,14<-1.96) meaning that there were significant differences between the learning outcome of students taught using quantum learning strategy with mind mapping and the learning outcomes of students taught using a conventional learning model. The effect size value obtained was 0.46 with falling into the medium category, having an effect of 17,17%.   Keywords: learning outcomes, quantum learning, mind mapping.
