Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know and to describe (1) the type of speech, (2) the linguistic unit of speech markers, and (3) the violation of courtesy principles in speech containing defamation in Facebook. This study was qualitative descriptive research with the data of speech from two Facebook accounts. The data were analyzed by the techniques of substitution, expansion, and paraphrase. The results of this study showed that (1) there were types of direct and indirect speech, (2) there were eleven linguistic units as the markers of defamation, namely 9 sentences, 1 phrase, and 1 word, and (3) there was a violation of the politeness principle to the tact maxim, the generosity maxim, the sympathy maxim, and the agreement maxim.

Abstract

This research aims to find code switching and code mixing between bahasa Indonesia and bahasa Dayak Ahe which every student use in Dayak community everyday conversation in Madiun.This research uses descriptive qualitative approach, which based on descriptive data in the form of everdyday conversation.The result of research: code switching from bahasa Indonesia into Dayak Ahe in 10 times, the cause is due to the presence of the third speaker (03). Code switching from bahasa Dayak Ahe into bahasa Indonesia in 11 times, the cause is due to the presence of the third speaker (03) and hearer (02) in internal code switching. Code mixing in bahasa Dayak Ahe into bahasa Indonesia in 12 times, the cause is due to the linguistics background of the speaker. Code mixing in bahasa Indonesia into bahasa Dayak Ahe in 7 times, the cause is due to the linguistics background of the speaker in the form of code mixing in the insertion of elements of word, the insertion of elements of phrase, and the insertion of elements of clause.

Abstract

Class action research entitled “The Application of Mind Map Learning Strategy in Writing Textbook Review Based on Standard Form of X-A Students at Saint Bonaventura Senior High School Madiun, Academic Year of 2015-2016” is aimed to find out that the application of mind map learning strategy can raise the students’ activeness as well as their achievement in writing textbook review based on standard form. This research was done in two cycles which involved 23 students. It indicates that the students’ activeness during the first cycle of learning is in high or medium level. Here, it involved 12 students out of 23 students (65,22%). Meanwhile the students’ activeness during second cycle of learning is in the high and medium level. In this case, there were 23 students out of 23 students who participated (100%). Further, the percentage of students’ achievement in the first cycle of writing textbook review based on standard form is 65,22% or there were about 12 students completed it. For the second cycle, there were 23 students (100%) who completed it.
